As someone whose in the book industry and had a chance to read (his uncorrected advanced proof); I must say; after you read it you'll be even more intrigued.
He dogs his time in WWE as an announcer and talks about how abusive Vince was to him on the earpiece. He said he liked it at first; but when Vince started dropping F bombs he lost all respect for him. Completely a trashing of Vince; and how hurt Foley was with his being taken advantage of with the direction of announcing and the pressures from Vince.
On a side note; great Alex Shelley stories regarding him and his youngest son. Most of the book is in a diary style countdown to the days to Lockdown; with segways covering his other personal going ons. As someone who wasn't much of a TNA fan; moreso Mick Foley the person & writer; I was kind of bored in the end result. A LOT of TNA talk.

Does anyone else see the next time on Impact Hulk Hogan calls out Mick Foley to applaud him, and tell him "congradulations on taking it to the next level brother! As everyone knows Mick Foley's book was mentioned on Monday Night Raw this week!"

I imagine Foley had some kind of advertising deal with them for a new book before he left. It just so happened the content of that book now features TNA.

It was very surprising, but definitely a nice thing to hear. It's kinda sad though. TNA mentions WWE on a regular basis. WWE vaguely brings up TNA once in a blue moon, and it comes off as shocking and surprising. TNA should take a note of that. The major problem with TNA mentioning WWE is that it's always used as either an attack on the company or some easy cheap heat. Very rarely has TNA done a promo mentioning the E that hasn't sounded somewhat petty.

I could honestly see Vince still having respect for Mick, and not really getting why Mick would be so offended at Vince yelling in his ear.

I could honestly see Vince still having respect for Mick, and not really getting why Mick would be so offended at Vince yelling in his ear. It's likely one of those things where Vince is intense about the product, and likely did yell, but he probably didn't think of it as being a jerk or anything. Think of it like Gordon Ramsay I guess, yelling to fire up the staff and keep things moving.

You do realize I don't think Vince sees TNA as remotely in his league, right? Not the same way as WCW was anyway.
Plus, yeah, I get the feeling no hard feelings with Mick, sort of a polite way of saying "Respect, brother. Good luck with the book and if you ever want to come back, we got a HOF spot waiting for you."

Vince thinks Matt Striker is Foley with a haircut and shave.

Some people think it's cause Vince has bought out TNA. Vince is "They". I'll allow it. If Vince is they I can see this happening afterwards. Jeff Jarrett: SON A OF BITCH! Now I have to create ANOTHER wrestling company.

I think there's definitely some sort of motive here. Cole also said 'Foley talks about his time as an announcer in WWE' and he and Vince would know full well Foley would be trashing that experience.

I was also surprised to hear Jericho mention guys like Ric Flair, Booker T, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall.

It was apparently a "thank you" to Mick for his recent public defense (despite him being a Democrat) of Linda and her campaign. He went to bat for her a few different times, citing an "unfair" media attack to discredit her - on his own with no prodding by WWE- and Vince did him this solid in return. There's no conspiracy or TNA connection. Just Vince returning the favor.

As TNA and WWE don't have a big WWF/WCW rivally yet (and are unlikely to in the near future) surely it's in each companies best interests for the other to suceed.
For TNA, more WWE success means pro wrestling coming more into the mainstream and the increased amount of casual fans that will come to the table will mean some of them will check out TNA out of curiousity.
For WWE, I think the major benifit from TNA success would be guys who didn't quite make it in the 'E would have a place to rebuild their career and improve to the next level. I imagine we will see Kennedy, Pope and Morgan in a WWE ring again before the end of their careers, also guys who may have drifted around the indies or gone to WWE too soon and busted have a place to get TV experience and if they do well might well end up on Raw or Smackdown oneday (Joe and Lethal for example).
Also Foley (or Angle/ECW guys) getting mainstream attention means newer fans will pick up their work on DVD, which the majority happens to be owned by VKM.
Both companies can help each other, there needs to be no rivally at this stage.

I haven't watched yet, but if Cole mentioned Mick's book and didn't bury, then it's good to see that Vince still holds Mick in high regard (and that the anger from 2008 has subsided)
