he'll be a heel. After the fan apathy that led to his most recent heel turn I've heard he doesn't want to be a face again.

EVERYONE wants to stay a heel, I remember when Orton and Carlito said that they enjoyed being a heel more. It all depends on how WWE is when, or if, he comes back. Personally I'm hoping for a face, he was one of the stalest acts in the WWE bar Rey.

Jericho could return as a moth larva and I would cheer for him.

You could apply that to every face turn ever. Not really, he over-did the parasite thing which made it funny for sure but no one else consistently did that to the people like he did. And there are heels that have done worse things and gotten cheered when they turned.

He was taken out by a face, why would he come back as a face as well?

That's if he ever returns. Consider that too. He did some interviews back in the spring/early summer where he talked about how much he loves what he is doing right now. He was asked if he was considering retirement and he said that he wasn't and he saw himself doing this for several more years or something like that. So it's why I have been surprised by how much talk there has been of him leaving for good because by the sound of those interviews he certainly was not considering it right now.

He was taken out by a face, why would he come back as a face as well? Orton could always be turned heel just before Jericho's return. In fact, I'd say the WWE has already started a slow burn to a potential heel turn for Orton in a few months time, what with him suddenly punting people in the head again.

Jericho's kind of a tweener at this point anyway, WWE has used him in a babyface role against Nexus and his recent "downward spiral" has brought him some sympathy from the fans. I think he could come back, still as serious Jericho, and be over huge as a face.

They discussed this sorta thing on the Brian Pillman DVD. They talk about how he knew he would be cheered when arriving in ECW, so he decided to get the crowd to boo him instead, just because it would be more of a challenge.
