For that matter, when was the last time a big name came back from an injury or hiatus as a heel?
The general consensus seems to be that whenever Jericho returns, be it three months from now, the Rumble, Wrestlemania, whatever, we'll be seeing the third coming of Y2J. Which, really, is probably what's going to happen, considering how comparatively stale SRS Jericho has gotten, despite his schtick still being entertaining.
But is it really safe to assume? Considering how much Edge's grand face return became kind of a 'meh', do you think creative is smart enough to try it with Jericho anyway? Or will Vince and his leg fetish refuse to let Jericho wear tights ever again?

That's if he ever returns. Consider that too.

That would be hilarious seeing a guy calling the fans parasites and tapeworms in every promo coming out smiling to the fans...

I think Chris Jericho is smart enough to come up with a great promo when he comes back that will get him over as a face or a heel. The guy is that dam good to he point where he can get the audience to do whatever he wants. He can get them to cheer and to boo really whatever he wants them to do he is able to get them to do it.
Y2J or Christopher Jericho it will work.

I think it will depend on the current landscape of the WWE when he returns. Depending on who is injured, released, etc... they'll probably make him whatever they need more of - heels or faces.

I see him continung to be a heel, then doing a slow build towards being a face. I think to turn Jericho face, it should take more than him simply being gone for a while and returning, so I hope creative wont be feeling lazy when he comes back.

Not really, he over-did the parasite thing which made it funny for sure but no one else consistently did that to the people like he did.

It all depends on how he debuts as well...
if he comes to save someone from a beatdown or something people will forget all about his past (regular fans..not us)
if he randomly shows up during a heel interview and bashes them(which hes done) people will forget.

I think regardless he'll get a huge face pop when he returns. Unless he returns by sneak attacking the top face. He could easily slip back into SRS Jericho at any time, though, even if he came back for a couple weeks as a face. I think the fans will force him to come back as a face, but he won't stay that way.

They really have so few heels that can get some real heat. Jericho might return as a face but they need him as a heel.

There have been guys who returned as faces only to turn heel later in the night, etc so I could see that.

SRS Jericho is horribly stale. The crowd was dying to cheer for him. I don't know how he comes back (as, presumably, he wants to take out Orton), but he's going to be a babyface. He has one run left and I think we're due for the return of Y2J.

I would love to see him as Y2J again with the long hair but I'm not sure if he will want to come back.

Didn't Jericho say in an interview that he never wanted to turn face ever (eeeeeever) again?
At this stage in his career, he fits so much better as a heel. I prefer him as a heel anyway, at least now. Not that I didn't enjoy his earlier face stuff.

I think he is winning the Rumble weird if he winds up facing a heel Edge for the Smackdown title again.

I think he is winning the Rumble weird if he winds up facing a heel Edge for the Smackdown title again. Then he can scream "CODEBREAKER, CODEBREAKER, CODEBREAKER" at Edge over and over.
