As many of you know, Dio passed away in may of this year, but I think it's high time we have a thread just apprecaiting the man's music. Love this live clip here... when it switches to the uptempo part of the song.. hell of a visual. Guy just knew how to put on a show.

Got Holy Diver sometime last year, and it is one of my favorite rock albums. Just a great album from start to finish, no filler on the record at all. I'll admit that's all I know from Dio's solo career, but 'Mob Rules' is an album that could only be produced by Black Sabbath, and 'The Devil You Know' is another great one. When the rhythm section hooks up, and couples with Iommi's crushing riffs and Dio's soaring voice, my God

I have Holy Diver and Sacred Heart. My copy of Dio has an extra few tracks featuring an interview with Ronnie James. Really interesting. Great band. Favourite song is "Don't talk to strangers".

I'm a big fan and still shocked that he is dead. I own everything modern from him, the Elf Albums, Rainbow (Rising is one the best albums every made and Stargazer is the best Hard Rock Song ever in my oppinion, nothing comes close to the "my eyes are bleeding" part), Dio and Sabbath. To bad that his older stuff from The Vegas Kings or Dio and the Prophets isn't available. It's so completely different...like this:

That's my favorite song. I also like Holy Diver and Rainbow In The Dark. I grew up listen to this stuff and well that's not a bad thing it's a good thing.

Three tracks from the various stages of RJD's carreer. He had the greatest voice in Heavy Metal IMO. Gone to soon... RIP Ronnie James Dio, and God bless your heart.

I got to go to his memorial service at Forest Lawn back in May. That was a tremendous experience. And, of course, since I work at Guitar Center Hollywood:

I love Dio. Have for as long as I can remember. It's also a point of pride for me that my daughter is loving his music as well, and her mp3 player has tons of his albums. My personal favorite Dio track:

Sorry to drag this thread up, but I finally posted the photos I took at Dio's Memorial Service. They're on my Facebook page, here's a direct link to the album... www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/album.php?aid=74190&id=1665355582 I'm pretty sure my stuff is public, so you should be able to view them. If you can't just let me know.

It's sad that he's gone, he had an amazing voice. I saw him live a few years ago and he sounded just as good in person, if not better.

I still can't believe the guy was part of professional music for upwards of 50 years. That is an insane career.
