I like this picture best: Why, you ask? Because of the Nic Cage sculpted head. Shows just how far they went with this. Oh, they went far alright. 30 million dollars worth!

This looks....weird But to be honest i'm curious what Tim Burton would have made with Superman. His Batman movies weren't bad so who knows? And to be honest i don't know what's more weird...the costume or Nicholas Cage as Superman

I could give a crap about Superman. Never watched any of the movies or read the comics. He's the Hulk Hogan of Superheroes IMO.
This movie looks like it would've been awesome.

I think it would have been a different approach from the Dated Christopher Reeve films. Don't get me wrong- I love Reeve's Superman films- but this would have been something FRESH.
It could have rebooted Superman for the 1990s or been another waterworld!

See, it woulda been different certainly, but it woulda been so far off the mark of what the character's supposed to be ( going by how Cage talked about how he'd play him, how Burton talked about building the world, and how Jon Peters spoke about it being more like Star Wars of all things, along with that costume) it might as well have been something else.
It wouldn't have been fresh, it woulda been something completely different ala the Halle Berry Catwoman flick.. and if that's the route you're gonna go, why make a flick about the character in the first place.
Plus it woulda got more roundly panned because Superman is such an iconic character.
The suit itself, if it was some sorta futuristic take (Elseworlds if you're into comics) looks ok, but if you're trying to make SUPERMAN the icon, there are some things you can't deviate much from.
They've done an updated fresh Superman already in Smallville. That's different enough to bring in another audience, but still grounded enough in the heart.
