I've been playing a fair bit of F-Zero lately, and now I'm just kinda wondering what futuristic racers everyone else is into, or which is their favourite.
Mine will always be F-Zero. It's the first one I ever really played, and it's still my favourite, despite pretty much every entry in the series being amazingly hard.
What about you kids?

F-Zero. Particularly F-Zero X.
By the way, if you have to snake, you suck.

Yeah, X is my favourite in the F-Zero series too. It's just awesomely fun, and has the best courses and character selection. Goood stuff.

I used to love me some Jet Moto.
But I'm also a fan of Outrun 2019 and Rumble Racing if you count that. It was maybe futuristic in a post apocalyptic sort of way <_<

Ooh yeah, I forgot about Outrun 2019. That game was fun as hell.

I can't pick a particular series. Each series has its strong and weak points.
Wipeout 3 was good, F-Zero X was good. Don't have much experience with the Extreme G series, having only played the 3rd. Never played Fatal Inertia or Quantum Redshift, so I can't offer an opinion on some of the unrepresented games.
Astro Go-Go is an interesting one worth checking out.
I might go with Death Rally in the end, though, if that counts as futuristic.

F-Zero is the benchmark series in this genre.
The Star Wars Podrace game was pretty great.

F-Zero is the benchmark series in this genre. The Star Wars Podrace game was pretty great. Dreamcast version was awesome, then they went with the less than stellar Bombad racing and killed any hope of another Star Wars racer. On another note, I have a complete copy of F-Zero X on the 64. First N64 game I've owned and only one I kept when my 64 went to my cousins.

Personally, I love SSX if that counts. That's snowboards on steroids For me it's XGRA, can't stop playing that, the soundtrack is top tier and the races are top tier

WipeOut!
Thinking about all the time spent sharpening my skills to get all the gold medals in WipeOut Pure makes me want to buy a 3rd PSP just to play it again.

Definitely F-Zero, though the original is probably my favourite.
