As an old school wrestling fan I'm a little bothered by the whole Big Show beingthe first wrestler to hold all3 the WWE/WCW/ECW titles. But he never held the AWA championship. The AWA was one of the biggest & most prestigous federations of its time.At one time the big 3 of pro Wrestling was the NWA.AWA,& WWF.I believe Hulk Hogan is the only one to hold the AWA,WWE,& WCW world titles.Maybe he needs to win the ECW title what do you guys think?

As nifty as that would be, it won't happen. Hogan, who turns 53 this year, isnj't going to be holding any more world championships in the twighlight of his career. Unlike Flair, who I believe still has a second Intercontinental championship right in him, Hogan's time with championship gold has long passed.
Admittedly, I'm a bigger Hogan mark than I am a Flair mark, but Hogan is a special attraction nowadays, unlike Flair who's still pretty much on the active roster.

So WarWolf I bet you get a hard-on when Cena goes into the "Superman" mode, like Hogan did.

Didn't the AWA Title get resurrected by some Japanese fed? And didn't Steve Corino hold it for awhile?
Because if Show gets released, he can aways leave America forever.

Hulk Hogan never won the AWA title. In 2005, the new AWA changed the history of the original AWA and had to add 4 footnotes to make this revisionist history seem true. One of the major reason Hulk left the AWA was because Verne would not give him the title.

One of the major reason Hulk left the AWA was because Verne would not give him the title. Actually, the title changes they mention are the results of typical dusty finishes. The AWA then decided to recognize those brief times when he was declared champion official title reigns. The way I look at it is, if Andre can be a WWF World Champion despite the way that entire thing went down, Hogan can be a two time AWA World champion, period.

Andre won the title and vacated it. He was acknowledged as having been an official WWF champ by Jack Tunney the very next week when Tunney gave his decision. It has taken the AWA over 20 years to determine that Hulk was a champion.
By the way, the new AWA has nothing to do with the old AWA and the history they describe is now fully owned by Vince McMahon.
By the way, if you consider every time a Dusty finish was used as a basis for title reigns then Ric Flair is now a 875 time world champ and Dusty is a 475 time NWA champ.

Is the current AWA Title recognized as a World Title?

As far as PWI is concerned, yes.
The titles with World Title status in PWI are the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, the ECW Championship, the NWA Championship, the ROH World Championship, the AWA Championship, AJPW Championship, and the IWGP Championship.

I think the closest you had in the old school days was Ric Flair,he held the NWA/WCW and WWF world titles.
Maybe Tommy Rich...he held the NWA title and the National Heavyweight Title back when the WWF was still a regional promotion owned by Vince Sr. At that time the "big 3" were the AWA,NWA(MACW),and GCW.

Hulk Hogan never won the AWA title. As a MN native who grew up watching AWA, I'm very proud of this. In 2005, the new AWA changed the history of the original AWA and had to add 4 footnotes to make this revisionist history seem true. That is just sad. it makes me lose a little respect for my old school fed.
