I just have that feeling that they're trying to strike lightning in a bottle twice. It never always works. BTW, bit of a programming note if you have the Biography Channel...a 2-part documentary (2 hours each) of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise (called The Inside Story) just premiered on the network. Part 1 aired last night, with Part 2 tonight. Here's the interesting thing? A 2-part documentary spanning four hours. I wonder...is Bio airing the Never Sleep Again documentary that came out on DVD earlier this year? I don't know. If they are airing Never Sleep Again, but not actually calling it that, it's a pretty dick move on their part. I gotta remember to record that to see what's going on. My brother DVR'ed the first part this morning, so I'll have to check it out as well. I won't call it a dick move however on the title change, since that's what the Bio channel calls the series in general. There's been other movie documentaries that have aired on that network under The Inside Story when (if it was on DVD) the DVD title is different. I don't care so much about the title rather than the footage that will air. EDIT: Oddly enough, I was just about to check the DVR when in fact, it just started on the Bio channel itself. Yep, it's definitely the Never Sleep Again documentary, it's just not called that. Like I said, I don't care about the title change...the simple fact that it's on TV (since I haven't seen it yet, and can't find the DVD ANYWHERE) is awesome enough. So if you do have the channel and haven't seen it yet, it just started and will re-air twice more (5 and 7 PM EST) before the second part premieres at 9 PM EST.

Yup, it is Never Sleep Again. Kinda sucks that they changed the name. I'm going to get in touch with Kasch and see what the deal with this is.

Never mind.
Hope the one they're doing on Halloween is original.

Never mind. Hope the one they're doing on Halloween is original. I'm going to bank on the fact that it's probably more or less the 25 Years of Terror docu.

I ordered "Man They Could Not Hang" with Karloff the other day off Amazon. Hope it gets here before the 31st. I saw it during a Cinemassacre Monster Madness one year, and it looked interesting to see.

Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier Confirmed for HELLRAISER Reboot I really wish they would let this die. The idea of a PG-13 Hellraiser aimed at kids is such a slap in the face to horror fans logic and common sense. Fixed for accuracy.

Going to finish watching this episode of Hoarders (which is a horrorshow in itself), and then I'm probably going to watch House of the Devil if I can stay awake.

Just a thought, since we did a "What's your favorite death in the Friday the 13th series" deal earlier, since it's close to Halloween and since Biography channel showed Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, what was your favorite death in the Nightmare on Elm Street series and the Halloween series?
Elm Street: tied between Freddy pulling the girl into the TV in Dream Warriors("Welcome to Prime Time, Bitch!") and Freddy pulling Joey into the waterbed in Dream Master("How's this for a wet dream?").
Halloween: Well, Michael Myers didn't do too many over-the-top kills, but I'd have to go with in Part 4 when he shoved the shotgun through Kelly Meeker's chest and impaled her on a wall.

I don't think I said my favorite FT13th kill yet, so i'll answer that as well... FRIDAY THE 13TH: I love the sheer brutality of when Jason cuts into the doctor's throat with a hacksaw and twists his neck back in The Final Chapter. Ditto for the "Bed Fold" in Freddy vs. Jason. Then again, I love the sheer absurdity of the sleeping bag kill in Jason X. NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET: Welcome to prime time, bitch! 'Nuff said. As far as the Halloween series, it's been eons since i've sat and watched the movies, so...sorry.

Didn't do my Ft13 one, so it'll be here as well:
Ft13: Pushing the kids head into the camper wall in Part 6, vacu-forming it to his face. Just so ridiculous that I love it. (Almost said the sleeping bag, but that's obvious.)
NOES: Favorite kill in my favorite series? Easily the marionette kill in part 3, remember the first time I saw it, and new they were finally getting creative with the nightmare abilities of Mr. Kruger. Close second though is Dan's Motorcycle death in part 5. Though I wish they'd release the uncut version edited into the movie.
Halloween: Simple, but the 2-fer in part 2, with the stabbing of the medic, and the drowning of the nurse. Though I do love the first time a mask kills somebody in part three.

Thought i'd chip in my favourite kills.
NOES: Gotta be Tina's death in the 1st movie.
Friday 13th: This may be considered blasphemy, but The bear trap followed up by machete chop to the head in the remake is so great to me. Just the way Jason gets a huge run up before hacking into that guys head, Awesome.

Saw Paranormal Activity 2. I liked it.
Oddly enough, it had a LOT of funny bits. Not, "this is supposed to be scary but is instead so stupid it is funny" I mean actual comedy bits. For the first 2/3 of the film though, the scariest things were some loud banging. The last 1/3 of the film, though? Even gave me some jumps, because, despite being nothing but jump scares, they are perfectly timed. You're given about 30 seconds to a minute of calm and just when you are captivated in the calm waiting for the scare, BOOM. It jumps out and gets ya.

My favorite Elm Street death is definitely the marionette scene from Dream Warriors. That thing f***ing TRAUMATIZED me as a child to the point where the very sight of any sort of puppet would send me into fits of cold-sweat terror. As for Halloween, almost all of the kills from Halloween 2 (which I view as "Part B" of the original film, or the segment of one long three-hour film where Myers truly goes kill-crazy) hold a special place in my heart...but I'm gonna have to go with the legendary "big-titted nurse gets scalded" death. So awesome, even to this day, and I love the buildup to it, with Myers strangling Bud in the background and SLOWLY walking up behind the doomed nurse. Secondly, there's a new IHR induction posted today for yet another of my favorite Halloween season movies: The 'Burbs, an awesome horror-comedy all things considered and yet more testament to the awesomeness of Joe Dante. ihrregistry.blogspot.com/2010/10/ihr-induction-burbs-1989-joe-dante.html

Probably the best place for this for all the UK crappers who are fans of the less sublime horror films. If you go to Poundland you can get a series of cult 1950s horror films for a pound each. I picked up the likes of ... Creature from the Haunted Sea The Thing from Another World The Screaming Skull King of the Zombies Invisible Ghost The Terror Attack of the Crab Monsters Fiend without a Face Indestructible Man Giant Leeches Now most of these are public domain but I thought it was pretty cool to have them in a collection. Also apparently Plan 9 from Outer Space is one of the ones available but sadly mine didn't have that in stock. My Halloween is set.
