Out in Hollywood, Police are refusing to arrest marijuana drug dealers because they think it's a very small problem. Made the local news.

Drugs and politics haven't been the key issues here, but guess what, guys? Writing "In Before the Lock" and other variations on it are frowned upon here. Cut that out, and I'll let this go a little longer, otherwise I'm locking it up. Are you the one who's been deleting my posts recently? I mean they're unfunny, and jarring, but there's alot to be said for giving a guy a bit of heads up.

I`d be more concerned if they were drinking, honestly.

The problem, besides smoking pot on school grounds (which will get you in a crapload of trouble any way)
It's that the operator completely ignore a highly illegal crime.

contact the school so they'll know to keep an eye out for future instances and possibly alert the non-emergency authorities so they can do the same. I did, a couple of hours ago, and the kids got busted. Also, I hear (from a friend who is an operator for 911) That the operator I talked to got fired.

Not to sound like a jerk but what does "highly illegal" mean? Personally that's a term I would use for violent crimes, murder, rape, forced assault, etc. Minors using a small amount of an illegal controlled substance doesn't fit that category for me. And maybe dispatch has a procedure where the contact a representative of the school for situations like this, so it can be handled in house.

Well, then it all ended in the best way possible if you ask me. As a parent of a teen who has gotten in trouble repeatedly over the years for weed and other drugs (starting at 11), I find the idea of drugs near a school absolutely repugnant.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if you witnessed a felony. It's not an emergency so you can't go calling 911. If you did that here in the Phoenix area you'd be arrested. It's drugs in a school zone, that is an emergency in most places. Not in really big cities. It goes on all the time here and isn't seen as much of a big deal at all. Hell, the schools don't even do anything except give the offenders a slap on the wrist.

Ill second that. Although here it's pretty much just culturally accepted.

Yeah it's kind of like that time where Homer was right about the meteor breaking down and not doing any damage to Springfield.
