Zach De La Rocha and RATM for me. Love the music with a passion, but I find them all to be obnoxious hypocritical jackasses who think FAR too highly of themselves.

What's worse is their are reports surfacing that Bono's One charity organization has been raising millions, but only actually putting a couple of hundred thousands into the actual charity work.

Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins. I love his work but he basically drove his closest friends away by being a prick and perfectionist. I know he basically IS the Smashing Pumpkins, but it's not the same without James Iha, D'arcy (Melissa Auf de Maur did good work with them too), and Jimmy Chamberlain.

Yeah, I was going to say basically the same thing. But I like the fact that Billy's a huge wrestling fan though, which makes me hate him a little less. lol Also, Rage Against The Machine. I like alot of their music, but I'm turned off by their politics and worldview.

They're an easy target, but Metallica comes to mind for having come from a musical scene built on tape trading and then later making a 110% effort to shut down Napster. And for St. Anger. Blech.

For me a person I can't stand to like is Daughtery. I loved the guy on Idol and like his music but met him a few years ago and the guy was a huge prick to fans.
A lot of mine have to do with meeting the actual celeb.

That was a report put out by the Daily Mail, which is the British Equivalent to the National Enquirer. Don't believe everything you read.

I'll flip it around and say Katy Perry. I'd LOVE to do her. I HATE every song I've heard of hers. For the Win!!! For me a person I can't stand to like is Daughtery. I loved the guy on Idol and like his music but met him a few years ago and the guy was a huge prick to fans. I've actually heard that alot. Shame too.

Sorry Nickleback fans. I hate that their songs all sound too similar, but I love some of their stuff too, I can listen to about 3 of their good songs before I get a bit bored.

I love James and D'Arcy, but writing-wise, they never contributed a whole lot. That's mostly Billy's fault, sure, but still...I never felt they were really essential to the Pumpkins' sound, as unfortunate as that is. The biggest hole in the Pumpkins lineup, to me, is Jimmy Chamberlain. He is, in my eyes, the greatest drummer of all time. He's immensely talented and his drumming is something of a signature for the band. I will always miss his presence.

If I want to know something about politics I would read the newspaper.

Pretty much word for word what I came in here to say. But as I said, Bono agrees with you. He's aware he has a massive ego, and has made fun of himself several times. That...doesn't really make it okay.

Huh, I was gonna say Axl Rose, too. So instead I'll say James and Lars from Metallica: they created some great music back in the day, but they turned into complete jackasses as their careers went on. (and that is only partially in reference to the whole Napster thing, which is a whole different argument for a different day.) Lars has been on record numerous times saying how much of a mistake it all was with Napster (doesn't change that he did it I know but still) and in the 5 years some of the things they have done for fans have been awesome. I couldn't possibly hate on them too much when I know Axl Rose is out there.
