I couldn't sleep the other night, which is unusual for me, so I turned on the TV, and Last Call with Carson Daly was on. I had no idea this show was still on. I've never liked Carson all that much, he's just so dull, but I thought his show was decent when it first started about 10 years ago, as I would watch it after Conan some nights. I remember an interview he did with Conan that was actually really good.
The format is completely different as it was the last time I saw it, as it is more a travel channel-esque interview show with some concert performances mixed in. It wasn't the worst thing ever, but still Carson displays nothing resembling a personality that I could see, but he seems harmless enough. I'll be honest I've never met a Carson Daly fan in my life.
I am just amazed with all the Conan/Jay controversy that NBC has kept Carson around, it must be cheap to produce or something.
Anyway, does anybody still watch this show, or should I say did anyone else know that this show was still on the air?

Only if they have a live performance I'm interested in seeing, like The Gossip or N.A.S.A one time.

carson daly doesn't annoy me as much as he used to. i like the new format for his show, the whole "stand up comedian" thing wasn't him at all

Had Carson Daily never hosted TRL I don't think he would get nearly the crap he does. Basically I think he's just a kind of good looking, boring ex-jock music fan. Last Call suits him pretty well with its location shoots and lower tiered guests.

I thought he was a prick on TRL, basically because he would shit on something he didn't like and push whatever he did like, I guess it's natural to want to push a band you like, but it's not very professional to take jabs at someone you don't. You're a host and it's your job to play the videos and if you wanna kinda lean and say "I'm a big fan of these guys" then cool, but don't complain about someone else.
Anyway, I prefer just one on one chatting like he's been doing, the "hosting" thing he tried SUCKED

I've never had such a complete and utter neutral reaction to anyone quite like I do with Carson Daly. Its not that I dislike him or even am annoyed/irritated when his show's on. Its just... nothing. There might as well be a blank screen whenever he's doing something.
Its bizarre.

I think he's god awful. The guy laughs at his own jokes more than the audience, which is really awkward to watch.

Well he is on at 1:30/12:30 central. That is for a reason.

I don't see many people say this, ever, but I like him. I'm actually quite fond of Carson Daly. He's not one of my absolute favourite people ever, but I think he's funny, and he seems like a nice dude.

A lot of the people that worked on MTV around the same time as Carson Daly were total pricks for the same reason. They ragged on performers they didn't like and were unprofessional about it. Anyways, I too am amazed that CD still has a show.
