Just got a new Sony LCD tv a few days ago and there is a really weird smell coming from it, a sort of burning smell. Should I be worried? This is the first time I have encountered this with a new tv.

I've had electrical items in the past that give out a smell when they're brand new. It could be something like dust which settled burning off. But I'm not really an expert on the subject. Either way I'd have a look in the manual to see or check if there is a contact number where you can ask someone about it. Maybe there will be something online.

I had a similar problem when I got my new TV, and it went away a week later.
It's just the machine warming up.

What are you watching? As the show itself might stink.

Unplug it, don't use it and call a support number.
