Do you know what bothers me? Sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything's soft... and smooth... This will not be no sold for one minute longer! ;D

I actually thought that was a cool effect Me too, I loved it. (EDIT: that effect, not the movie) Maybe things are just hitting me the wrong way today, but this the third thread in a row I've clicked where someone seems to be nitpicking something that shouldn't even be bothered with, especially since it's a standard. The third thread in a row, I say.

The part that annoyed me the most is they have Anakin go psycho and kill them all. Including the women AND THE CHILDREN. Then, they're right back to some rated PG Star Wars wackiness. Heh? [/Steiner] Shouldn't we explore Padme's boyfriend being a bloodthirsty mass murderer a little more? I mean, she barely even reacted to it, and even went on to marry his ass. And then we're supposed to believe she's shocked he would turn into Vader? This is the biggest issue I have with the prequels. I saw a kid with a Clone Wars back pack with Anakin on it and I was really bothered that they would put someone of guilty of ethnic cleansing on kids products. I'm also bothered that all seemed to be forgiven at the end of Jedi even though Anakin/Vader was still guilty of genocide. All he did to redeem himself was to make nice with Luke.

It's a stark moment, the first time Anakin clearly, violently displays dark side tendencies, and it's also a scene where the idea could've been played with that Anakin, being as powerful as he is, is capable of great feats of destruction that he can't completely control. Sort of like the Avatar Spirit in the cartoon Avatar, it's a part of him he has to learn to control by following the the positive side of the Force, but the seduction of the dark side keeps him from controlling it, unleashing Darth Vader. Instead, the killing of the Sand People was glossed over, and his fall was all due to thinking Padme would die. Ugh, I hate wasted potential in a story.

Damn right they should have shown more of the Sand People slaughter, but it's only spoken of once, and only to Padme.

And are we supposed to believe that the Jedi council has NO CLUE that this guy is f***ing nuts? He goes around murdering entire races, and even cuts off Dooku's head, but everyone is shocked when he cuts up younglings like he works for Benihana.

A good writer could have really explored this and set up the third movie by showing just how crazy this guy really is. And Padme's reaction was like 'eh, whatever'. Note to all the women out there: if your boyfriend goes around having irrational hatred of sand and tells you he murdered an entire race, DO NOT SHRUG IT OFF AND THEN MARRY HIM.

Well, they are Sand People. I've been waiting five films to see them get messed up. That should be a level in the Force Unleashed. Beat up sand people.
