I know, just one of the things, but that being said, stuff doesn't make noise in space. In that scene where Obi-Wan is chasing after Jango Fett and the terrible actor that plays his son...I mean seriously, I would have taken the kid that played Young Anakin over this guy...and Jango dropped those mines that shot out that blue shockwave, it really irritated me that it made not only a noise, but a really big one. Did Lucas decide one day to support his son's garage band by having him play a loud, grating note on his electric guitar, and then just throw it in the movie?

In Star Wars, everything makes noise. Or else Ben Burtt would have nothing to do.

When the Death Star exploded, it also made a noise.
In fact, name a movie set in space where there isn't any noise in space. It may not be realistic, but you'd miss it if it were gone.

Every single sci-fi movie with ships and space battles has noises in space. Why single out Star Wars Ep. 2 for it?

every star wars movie has this. There was a special on the history channel where they muted scenes from sci fi movies in space and it was BORING. Like suspend disbelief man, it's star wars

Maybe in a galaxy far, far away...space works differently. After all, this is a universe that has some weird "force" in it that ours doesnt.

Do you know what bothers me? Sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything's soft... and smooth...

The part that annoyed me the most is they have Anakin go psycho and kill them all. Including the women AND THE CHILDREN.
Then, they're right back to some rated PG Star Wars wackiness.
Heh? [/Steiner]
Shouldn't we explore Padme's boyfriend being a bloodthirsty mass murderer a little more? I mean, she barely even reacted to it, and even went on to marry his ass. And then we're supposed to believe she's shocked he would turn into Vader?

I actually thought that was a cool effect This You're watching a movie where there are ships that travel faster than light, laser swords, laser guns, 8 foot walking carpets, people who can move stuff with their mind, people who can control other peoples minds, ALIENS....thousands of alien species, a 2 foot talking muppet that does flips, countless numbers of robots that do different jobs.........and you're complaining about noise in space lol (not trying to come off dickish, just had a thought)

Midichlorians transfer sound in space. Because midichlorians don't exist in the real world we can't hear sounds in space.

Future dorks will one day argue about how the laser rifles in Star Wars sound and act nothing like real laser rifles and begrudge the then long dead Lucas for it. It's comical how passionate people can be about stuff that 100% isn't real and thus doesn't matter. Hell, I'm still bothered by them making Greedo take the first shot.

And it's all the more chilling seeing the guy get knocked away and float into infinity for the complete lack of noise.

It was part of the reason why I really dug the Firefly series. Well their one bitty cannon did make SOME noise when they shot it in space, but it was very subdued and almost completely silent. Still that's more realistic than all the others.
