Beg your pardon? There's no such thing as 'extreme' rules. ECW is ECW. The addition of garbage and talented wrestlers is what made ECW so great, and in fact is what MADE ECW period. What is this neutered crap?
Newcomers to the promotion aren't going to know what the big deal was about if the nuts are chopped off the promotion in this "revitalization".

Early on in ECW, you could get disqualified. I agree, though, ECW matches should always be fought under "extreme" rules.

I remember on RVD's WWE released DVD that he said that he loved the ECW style but he couldn't do it on a WWE production program do to the vast tour dates.

I remember on RVD's WWE released DVD that he said that he loved the ECW style but he couldn't do it on a WWE production program do to the vast tour dates. They can still have all matches be no DQ and no countout without insane, career shortening spots. Just have all matches be "extreme rules" (or ummm.... you know... just have it be an ECW show!), but don't do insane weapon spots every match. They should never delcare a match as "not being an extreme rules match" in a promotion called "EXTREME Championship Wrestling". It should be understood that if it's on ECW, it's no rules. But if you don't want dangerous spots in every match, just be sly and don't do them in every match.

It would probably make sense with wrestlers like Angle, benoit, Malenko... but it makes absolutely zero sense for a guy like Sabu to put into a match actual rules in it....
as long as they dont' make stupid mistakes like that, I could probably live with some some matches with the rules, and some without...

without the extreme rules, it really feels like a glorified version of Heat or Shotgun Saturday Night. with matches when Test is squashing people left and right it just feels wrong without people being allowed to do something "extreme" like winning outside the ring or something outrageous like that. when i see a match called a dq due to a close fist i know they will have gone too far.

The match was restarted as HHH/Shane v Shawn in a handicapped match and Cena was escorted out of the building (he returned at the end however)
