I'm still confused, the "Original" Anonymous General Manager forced Michael Cole, who at the time was a pure babyface announcer, into a tag team match.
Wouldn't that make Adamle a heel? He never did anything else heelish IIRC, so WTF was up with that?
Did he just hate Cole as much as everyone else did?

Didn't he complain once about how he was being disrespected? I thought that was a heelish thing to say.

Adamle was Adamle. He didn't need a disposition, he had his own thing.

I miss Adamle. Yeah, he botched and mangled some things as an announcer (quite a few things), but, heck, so did JR -- and he was a lot more entertaining than Lawler has been the last 3-4 years.
For whatever reason -- outsider, I guess -- the IWC absolutely hated him.
Mostly I miss him as GM. I think he was the last really good Raw GM, and the best of the lot in the last handful of years. His lack of comfort with the position, which I always took as part real and part character, enhanced his character to me.

his character wasn't a face or a heel in the classic sense
his gimmick (real life or his character) was that of screwing up and eventually the crowd turned on him even though Adamle was a big fan of Kofi so I guess that would kinda make him a face

Towards the end, I think he did turn slightly heel but not full-blown "I slobber the Miz's knob" heel like Michael Cole.

Why did you have to remind me of that train wreck of a general manager / announcer / whatever he was.
I think he just made himself heel because he botched everything and we all hated him for it.

The difference between Adamle and JR (or anyone else) is that Adamle genuinely did not seem to have a clue about the product or the wrestlers he was trying to sell. It's almost like he was just learning about how the WWE works as he was going along. JR or anyone else slipping up is more of an honest mistake. Adamle was just ignorant.

He was trying to be a neutral gm. He wanted to be the first gm not to take sides. If you guys remember he said that during his resgination address, you know where he got a little emotion

But some of the screw ups were total clueless moves. "The Samoan Bulldog?"

During his run as GM someone on the boards compared him to Michael Scott from "The Office", and I thought that was a perfect analogy. He could be clueless, but ultimately his heart was in the right place. I thought Adamle as boss had potential but the fans didn't buy into it, and between that and his health issues the set up didn't work.

Towards the end, I think he did turn slightly heel but not full-blown "I slobber the Miz's knob" heel like Michael Cole. Actually towards the end I saw him as a face. He rightfully stood up to Orton only for the McMahons to get involved (and that worked out so great for them a few months later with Orton) and completely undercut him. And so instead of compromising his morals, he resigned.

I actually liked Adamle. He may have screwed up alot but I found his commentary more entertaining than Jim Ross's who seems to have lost his interest and passion for the past 3 years.
Adamle gets flack for messing up but that can be put down to him been a new, inexperianced guy so it's obvious he's going to make mistakes.
J.R is a veteran, he has no excuse for screaming "TWIST OF FATE! TWIST OF FATE!" when Jeff Hardy hits the Whisper in the Wind. Even worse, it wasn't once he did it. . .it was in every Jeff Hardy match for months.
But yeah, I miss Adamle. I loved his "The Cutler did it" line during a Paul Burchill match and "Jamaican me Crazy!"

I was a member of the Adamle Alliance for like a year after he left the WWE. He really liked what he was doing, even though he wasn't very good at it, and made for some hilariously memorable moments as an announcer and GM. I seriously marked out for the "WTF?" looks on Cena's and Batista's faces when Shane announced him as GM.

He was awful. Even more awful than Cole is right now. Good riddance!

Adamle screwing up the Mamajuana pitch was great. But his finest moment was during the Dirt Sheet seance for Paul Bearer.

half the 'heels' who try to be heels on the wwe roster aren't true heels. so, a guy who was screwing up left and right, but came off as sort of loveable definitely wasn't a heel
