I don't hate R-Truth, but The Lie Detector is easily the worst finishing move today. Sure, it looks cool, but most of the time, it barely makes any contact with the opponent, if it does at all. Pretty much every other move that R-Truth does would make for a better finisher.

Easily the Lie Detector. As others have said, he has MOVEZ to use. He busted out the Truth or Consequences (vertical suplex stunner) for a near-fall a few weeks back, why not use that? Wait.... Maybe that's why.

i dont know what the shoutout is or who does a soop-lift DDT. so many terrible finishers Sorry, the shoutout is JTG's spinning headlock takedown move. Vance Archer does the scoop lift reverse DDT. Does Kozlov still use it to?

Cena's STF, most of the time it just looks horrible.
He only pulls back on it like 10% of the time. The rest of the time his hands are just on the mat with his opponents head resting comfortably there.
Go watch some Chono or Regal or something.

. Starship Pain-Impressive, but wouldn't finish off anybody in a shoot match. came here to post the exact same thing. I know it's verboten to say anything negative about Jo Mo in the IWC (or at least it seems that way) and while the move does look impressive it's no where near a "devestating" finisher...seems more like a set up move to something else than a finisher.

Whatever Khali's finisher is, I'm sure it's the worst. It's a chop to the head, isn't it? i think the Chop is a signature move. Khali finisher is a double hand Chokeslam i think

I can't stand the Skull Crushing Finale. It is both a dumb looking move, that ALWAYS looks like Miz botches it(I know he doesn't, it's just the way the move looks), to having a supremely stupid name.

I'd like to throw in any of Rey Mysterio's springboard moves, especially the splash or the leg drop. He hits them with less impact than a pillow.

I voted Lie Detector, but I'm dumbfounded at the lack of votes for Starship Pain. That moves looks ricockulous.

I voted Wasteland. A simple basic back bump should not end a match, and a back body drop looks more painful because you are falling further. Cena's STF is horrible as well, it reminds me of The Rock's terrible sharpshooter because he puts no torque on it so it doesn't look painful at all.
Honourable mentions: RKO - DDP made it look way more vicious. MVP Playmaker - I didn't like it when I first saw Elix Skipper do it in WCW, and I still don't like it now. Future Shock DDT - it looks cool but a few times I saw MacIntyre do it his opponent's head was a good several inches from hitting the mat, so it often looks fake as hell. Masterlock - a full nelson? really?

Even though I've literally just voted, I can't remember which ones I picked other than the 619. There's just so many crap finishers to choose from. This is honestly one of the hardest polls I've seen on the 'Crap.

Yeah, so the 619 is not a finishing move. It's a set up move. I would wager that Rey has never pinned anybody directly after hitting the 619, thus it's not a finishing move.

At the risk of posting blasphemy, the Tombstone Piledriver where the opponent's head often doesn't come within 6 inches of the mat just doesn't do anything for me.
But on the subject of finishers, exactly what point in time did the good old-fashioned DDT go from being a devastating maneuver to one which does almost no lasting harm (not even 3 seconds' worth) to the recipient. I know the answer is sometime after ECW went out of business, since 90 percent of the roster used the DDT as a finisher, but I can't seem to pinpoint it.

The fact that so many people did it probably has more to do with it. When so many people use a move, wrestlers start to try to up the ante to stand out.

Name me at least three recent matches where he doesn't use the move in the finishing sequence that doesn't end in a generic roll up, and I'll agree with you.

I went with AA, 619, Cobra, and Husky's senton as none of those seem high impact enough to end a match. They'd be fine as signature moves but not finishers
