When you start to look at the clues, there are no clear plans or arc with the two current Raw storyline.
Nexus eluded to a higher power. Who we thought was Vince. Then they beat him up. They are now tangled in a storyline with Kane + Undertaker. The reason? Unknown.
The mystery GM is something that has many twisted webs. There have been statements such as "I don't want to see Bret Hart wrestler, I cant stand him" which you have to believe the WWE might drop when they do decide who is the GM, but temporarily used to get Bret out of wrestling.
In my opinion both are examples of the WWE throwing things out there at the last minute and then planning the storyline as they go, which might leave quite a few untied threads.

Pretty much.
I think they had this grand elaborate thing with Triple H, but he had surgery and that pretty much pewtered out. The Mystery GM thing was also apart of that, but then Miz got his big push, and that clutters things up.
To me, they had absolutely no foresight. Cena/Orton/Triple H has been done to death and gets lower and lower buyrates everytime they face off. They blew through Sheamus, who has feuded with Cena twice, and Orton twice within a span of 6 months. So their only option is to have Barret w/Nexus fight for the title again and again. They seem to be biding their time with Miz (possibly Mania), so there is only one big heel on Raw.

I was at the Raw where the Mystery GM thing started which was the same night Vince got taken out... They showed a limo pulling up that night and no one got out.. I'm still waiting to see who was in that limo!

I don't recall Nexus elluding to a higher power other than themselves, but...
There HAS been reports that the Creative Team in WWE was booking Nexus week to week to see how it goes, but DID have an end-game scenario they could pull the trigger on at any time.
As far as the mystery GM thing, I agree that was probably a last minute decision, when they realized that their "Guest Host GM" was going to eventually have Mr. T's Hairdresser next, so they put this in to have a GM, but not have to slap a celebrity who messes up names, or a McMahon on TV.
Honestly, if the computer wasn't there, it would be a McMahon.

Yeah, definitely. I'm pretty certain they have no clue what they're going to do with the Mystery GM angle and that is why they're trying to drag it out as long as possible. As for the Nexus angle, they might have a plan now but considering they stopped referring to the bigger picture for months, they certainly had no plan beforehand.

I think they have a plan for Nexus but it has nothing to do with a higher power. I think they're either using it to get Cena with the crowd 100% behind him or even to turn him heel. At this point, Nexus doesn't need a higher power.
The GM though....yeah, there's no way they have a plan for this one. In the end I'm still pulling for Batista. Or rather Douchetista.

I remember someone saying Shawn Michaels will be the mystery GM, which makes a lot of sense if you look at it from a heel perspective.
Who was the person to end his career? Undertaker.
Nexus eliminates him and says it's simply part of the bigger picture.
Who has been his biggest rival? Bret Hart.
He tells Bret to GTFO.
It makes a lot of sense.

Nexus got involved with Kane and Undertaker because they needed Undertaker to lose so he could take time off due to injury and they didn't want Kane to look as strong in victory since he already beat Taker twice on PPV so they used the Nexus to help him win.
How they'll explain this in kayfabe, I have no idea.

I believe the mystery GM angle had no plan from the start.
Nexus, however, I'm willing to believe their plans had to have been altered based on the injuries and fan reaction. Had they not gotten over, they would already be disbanded.

It seemed like the Nexus were really headed somewhere with the initial attack. If not why would they waste Cena? But in the weeks that followed, it became pretty clear that they had no actual plans for them beyond that. We saw the exact same beatdown week after week and they didn't seem to be going anywhere with it. It looked like they were just in a holding pattern until they could figure out a motive for the "bigger picture". Now with Cena in the Nexus they have at least some direction but I don't think ther was much of a plan for them beyond the initial attack. I honestly don't think WWE creative thought it would have as much of a buzz as it did.
The Mystery GM thing I've always thought was a pretty good idea. It made sense because the last GM had been taken out by the Nexus so they wanted an authority who couldn't be intimidated, coerced, or even argued with. Beyond that concept I don't think they have any idea who it'll be until they just decide to reveal it.
