The thread about Orton's title reign not being exciting promted me to wonder: when is the last time someone had a title run that was most everyone generally found exciting and interesting?
I see tons of comments about how this guy or that guy's current or former title run sucks, but rarely if ever any mention of one that posters consider great.
I'm enjoying Kane's current turn with the strap, for instance, and will even more if he can have a good feud with Edge and come out with it still champ.
So how about it -- what's the last great one in your mind?

Kane's has actually been pretty damn good, and it's not hard to picture him surviving to Mania with the belt at this point. He gets through Edge at Survivor Series and TLC he can coast through the typical Rumble filler midcard match and Elimination Chamber no problem.

Yeah, I'd agree with Kane, for sure. It's long overdue, and a great "last hurrah" if that is, indeed, the case. I think the C.M. Punk-Jeff Hardy feud was really good, and in turn was good for the title. Before that? I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone will!

The last one, I'd have to say Kane. It's been pretty tip top. He's finally outlasted The Undertaker, and can easily hold it 'til Wrestlemania.

For some reason JBL's long title reign comes to mind instantly.

For some reason JBL's long title reign comes to mind instantly. JBL's title run was the first one I thought of too. It was the last one I'd call outstanding. I enjoyed Batista's 05 run too I guess. Honourable mention to David Otunga's legendary 1 day tag title reign.

I would love it if Kane keeps the belt until say Mania. Easily my favourite run in a good while, totally deserved too.

Cena's long run was the first that came to mind. And.. thats pretty much it. Punk's reigns were all memorable for me because I love the guy but I wouldn't call them outstanding.

People may like Kane but his title run has hardly been great. The title has been pretty meaningless to all this Undertaker stuff. It's just a nice belt buckle. Surely there's a distinction between an outstanding TITLE run (which Kane is not having, in my opinion) and an outstanding run in general (which I guess you could make an argument for).

Punkers run in 2008.
and the big show's ecw title run was outstanding, he really worked his ass off during that run. and really made the new ecw title actually mean something.

Kane's is just too long overdue for me. They should have pulled the trigger on him in '03, they didn't. Now I just dont care.
I would probably have to say Cena's long run, in retrospect. Kind of had a lousy ending though.

Orton's reign from Oct 07 to April 08. Won it from Triple H in a great Last Man Standing match (probably the only match of theirs I've ever liked), then had a good feud withn HBK with good matches, then Jericho's return and good matches with him, then a good feud with Jeff Hardy, then some nice matches with Cena and retainingthe title in a triple threat at 'Mania.

I'm enjoying Kane's title run.
Before that though, the last truly great title run was imo Christians ECW run.
