but wouldn't BskyB have to buy out TNA's long term contract though? EXTREME would be my bet where IMPACT goes, make it the tri-fecta of TNA programming I agree Extreme is the most likely outcome but I suspect that'd be a HUGE blow for TNA and they'll loose a large chunk of viewers. HardCORE Justice only got 28,000 viewers on Extreme. Yes if BskyB want out then they'll have to buy out the contract and I guess some sort of compensation on top? Especially if Impact's bumped to small channel like Extreme Sports. They wont have to buy the contract out if they didn't buy the contract in the first place. It would be a similar situation to all those WCW guys whose contracts WWE never bothered to pick up. The old Living Group may still own the contract for TNA, because it was outside produced, while alot of the Living Groups shows are in house shows whose contracts would been part of the sale. It really could be interesting to see what happens, especially if Sky do put TNA on a lower subscription package channel and to see how Vince and Co react to that.

Another intersting thing to note, in terms of contracts, is that if Virgin Media Television (the name of the Living Group before the sale) didnt sell TNA, then Virgin retain a 50% stake in the UKTV network.
This includes various history channels and the previously suggested channel Dave.
However, it also includes a channel called 'Watch' where TNA would likely fit in alongside reruns of Dr Who and Torchwood.
Like I said, interesting to see what news we get going forward.

The channels were sold so Virgin could get easy access to the HD sports channels Sky has. Simple business really. Sky wanted the channels because it gives them bigger presence and lets them use the shows Virgin used to have exclusivity over.
TNA are pretty much screwed in terms of staying on the Sky network. No way TNA has a big enough presence in the UK to warrant Sky putting it on the Sky Sports Channels and it won't be fitting into Sky 1/2/3 anytime soon since those air WWE programming.
This will end up with TNA breaking from Sky and going across to Channel Five. Their looking for any sports rights at the minute and the rumours were there months ago that TNA and Five were looking lovingly at each other.

If the old Virgin Media Television still held the TNA contract I don't think you would've seen Impact on Bravo the last few months. That'd be like Scott Steiner turning up on Raw while still getting payed by AOL-Time Warner. I could be wrong but I don't see BskyB broadcasting a program they don't have the rights to.

Channel One is being scrapped along with Bravo. Now where can I watch 5 episodes of Star Trek a day?! I kinda said that in jest but I kinda wonder. They didn't have the original series, that's another channel I don't actually get, but they had all the spin-offs. I suppose they'd go on Sky One again. And Bravo and Channel One are also the stations that show Spartacus, Leverage and Chuck over here as well as having the UK broadcasting rights to the Hawaii 5-0 remake. I wonder what will happen to them. I dont't watch a whole lot of TV as it is but this might cut my viewing right down. They're keeping Living so I should still get my Criminal Minds and Supernatural fix.

True enough, although the sale wasn't 100% official until yesterday when the various monopolies boards said it was all legal.

I'm certain WWE's contract with BSKYB prevents any other wrestling company from being shown on their channels, so TNA won't be on SKY One or SKY Sports.
Extreme Sports is a small channel with generally low ratings - I'm not really sure why TNA PPVs are on their in the first place.
I think FIVE USA is a realistic option, however they didn't exactly showcase The Ultimate Fighter last year, it was hidden away on Saturday night at either 11pm or midnight and they never ran one advert for it - I guess prime time repeats of Sons of Anarchy are more important.

Maybe Channel Fo... oh wait. Wrestling's apparently more gruesome than real live autopsies.
I can see TNA going to the ITV digital stations, or most likely as people have been saying, Channel 5. But I still hold out hopes for it to go to Eurosport so that we can have the return of their clueless announce team talking over everything.
Also, what Thurgood's saying in my sig. (Bravo's the only place in the world that still shows The PJ's)

I'm gonna look on the bight side though and say this could be a blessing in disguise for TNA, being one of Bravo's top program's surely going to put them in good stead if they have to look for a new home. If they are forced to move I can see it panning out something like this. Impact and Reaction going to Five, Reaction would fit in perfectly on FiveUSA and Impact can could go on either USA or the main channel depending on how confident they are with it. They could also get a cut down version of PPVs like UFC: Main Event When the Extreme deal is up I see the PPV's going to the new premiere sports channel with Explosion staying on Extreme. If that fails ESPN could swoop in and swipe the lot for ESPN America.

BTW an old colleague of mine who still works for Virgin Media claims they may be possibly getting rid of Extreme Sports as well.

Extreme Sports isn't owned by either Sky nor Virgin Media but Zone Chello (the same group that own the CBS and Zone channels). So it might be leaving the Virgin Media platform but I don't see it closing.
But that does close off the possiblity of Impact going to somewhere like CBS Action as it's under the same group as Extreme.

Gotta admit, I'd love to see wrestling on Channel 5 again. And if not on the main channel, I agree Five USA would be a good fit for TNA.
And anyway, isn't Five's new owner the guy who owns the Daily Star? Surely anything called TNA would be perfect for his channel.

I didn't even know the PPVs are on the extreme sports channel? When are the usually shown?
I hope it goes to five so we can see the return of the batman style censorship, although like Thrillho I kind of want to hear Eurosport's clueless commentary team again.
Anyway I'm sure TNA would be beneficial to a lot of channels that struggle to fill their schedules, they must dream of a show with an in-built audience and at least two hours of new episodes a week.

The Daily Mail had pictures of Princess Beatrice and Eugenie in bikinis when the oldest one was 13 right next to their Brasseye article.
