Or politely wait for him to finish? She was found after the case was aired on America's Most Wanted. As for escaping, that'd be assuming she could escape, either physically (ie: There was an actual way out) or mentally. Without ever having been in that situation, it's impossible to know what's going through a person's mind in that situation.

Very true, we don't trust fully-developed adults to act rational most of the time, much less early teenage girls.

She's 23 now, and that pic of her earlier makes me almost want to deal with any emotional baggage she's surely carrying as a result of her abduction.
...almost.

I'm certainly glad this guy will never see the light of day again.
As for Smart herself, I really do hope she can find some sort of life beyond this. Broke my heart when she disappeared since I thought there was almost zero chance of her surviving, so her rescue was an almost beautiful miracle. So, what more be said that to wish her the best from her on in?

Tax payers shouldn't have to pay for child rapists to eat and have accommodations in prison. Just inject this piece of shit and be done with it.

Prison, where he can never have control over himself or anyone else ever again is far more fitting. Not the mention the daily rapings he will be receiving. That is assuming the inmates don't just murder him straight off.

^She didn't need to be to get this much press. She's a pretty white blond girl. And as we know, they're the only victims that really matter.
