I hate when people say "life is short". It's only short if you make that way. Make every moment count, and it will seem epic, untold, and a never-ending adventure.

With that saying I can see it from both perspectives. I mean, the human life is really short compared to other things on this planet, Hell you could go and find a 200-300 year old tree in the forest to prove we're not here for that long. But at the same time I agree, if you live your life to the fullest your life will seem long

The phrase "Live Life To the Fullest" is much more inpirational than "Life is Short". So I never liked the latter term very much.

Your opinion on that will change as you get older I assure you. When time passes and the things you wanted to do but never got around to (for whatever reason) begin to pile up more and more...that comment will ring true. Sadly. This applies to everyone in some matter.

Oh sure Carpe Diem now but when its time to retire I don't have a nest egg and am selling my prescriptions to junkies to make rent.

If you live your life to the fullest, surely it will seem short, because time flies when you're having fun.
Best way to make your life feel long? Have it be as miserable and uneventful as possible. The days will just crawl by!

Life is vertically challenged. I prefer the term 'fun-sized'.

Life isn't too short, it's way, way, way, way too long.

The passage of time seems faster to people as they grow older. I thought this was a pretty well-known phenomenon.

Life is short, even if you live it the very best you can and make every moment count, there will always be more you wish you'd done, more you wish you'd learned more you wish you'd seen. 100 years is longer than most people live, yet in the grand scheme of things a even a thousand years is just a flash in the pan. We live in a great big wonderful universe, and even if the human species manages to exist for billions of years we still won't come close to unlocking even a micro fraction of all the mysteries, and wonders to be had in our brief stay in this thing we call life.
I guess you can look at it two ways. If your main goal in life is to have as much fun as you can while you can, until you burn out then I guess life is about as long as it needs to be. However if your goal in life is to achieve knowledge, wisdom, and explore the vast world/universe around us then life is way way way too short.
In any case the only thing we can do is live life the best way we know how, and if on our death bed we can be satisfied with what we have accomplished then I suppose we did OK.

I like what jerry Seinfeld said, he basically remarked that life is very long and we get bored and are trying to find things to do.
I've wasted more time than people have had actual lives. I should be acting crazier, because I sure as hell don't wanna be around in my 70's, or whenever i fall apart

Life is short. You're most likely to live to around 80-90ish. That is NOTHING. Absolutely insignificant. The age of the universe is estimated at nearly 14 billion years. Even if you live to be 100, it is 140 million times older than you are, and it will keep going much, much, much longer than you do. In terms of size....well

In any case, the gif is still pretty amazing.

"You know, some people say life is short and that you could get hit by a bus at any moment and that you have to live each day like it's your last. Bullshit. Life is long. You're probably not gonna get hit by a bus. And you're gonna have to live with the choices you make for the next fifty years."

I don't look at it any way like that.
I just know that life IS, and what that means is largely up to you and your perception of things.
I choose to enjoy what I do, even if it's something seemingly dull. I indulge my interests, and while I do have responsibilities, I don't let them make me feel as if my life is passing me by, or life isn't worth living, or whatever other crap.
There's too damn much out there to let ourselves get bored, or to not take a moment or two to appreciate it all.
Cynicism is too boring to me, simplistic naivety isn't productive, but nobody said we have to exist at the extremes.
