I'm sure everyone of you has heard this at some point, I would like to know what does this mean? how exactly do you go about this, do you:
1.Spend all your'e money on something you always wanted? Probably not as this is not logical, you HAVE to consider how one purchase affects your'e future, so you are not going to do that.
2. Treat all your'e family and friends with respect and love, should be a given- i doubt anyone wants to have conflict, so this would not count as living your'e life to the fullest.
3. "Live everyday as its your'e last" this makes no sense, obviously no one's life is guaranteed. This suggests you do anything you like to do and not too worry about the consequences (as you won't be around for any of it to matter). This suggests you do things that you wouldnt do normally ( maybe try drugs, drink heavily, engage in un protected sex with strangers) . This cannot be it
So any thoughts ?

Most people that I have across that have said this have all been huge risk takers and would always get into all sorts of trouble.
Basically, "Live life to the fullest" = "Live carelessly"
Of course this doesn`t apply to everyone.

Pretty much anything that doesn't involve sitting on your ass doing nothing and watching the days go by.

Well, in order to live your life to the fullest, you need to understand what the "fullest" is to you. Basically, live and learn. Something like that.

This reminds me of a bullshit phrase I hate: "Everything happens for a reason" Those reasons just aren't any good a lot of times, or are true WTF moments.

The first phrase is just a way of use your time wisely instead of letting it slip by.
I can't stand the phrase - "It's the thought that counts." As most use this when they didn't actually do any thinking.

People tend to say and reuse a lot of shit that they've heard elsewhere without even thinking.

Haha, looking at this thread title, I was going to come in and mention that. "Live everday as if it's your last" is one of those things I never believed the validity of. If today was your last, would you spend it working a job you hated just to make ends meet? No, you'd spend your time enjoying yourself or whatever. Still, you can't feasibly do that without destroying what you've built out of your life.

Every night before you go to bed reflect back over the events of the day. If you have no regrets, a feeling of accomplishment, and have a happy peaceful feeling then you have lived that day to its fullest. If you can string those days into weeks, months, and years then there will be a very good chance that at the end of your life you will have lived life to its fullest.

Living to the fullest doesn't mean doing stupid stuff; it's more about doing what satisfies you and makes you feel positive, content, and like you've done something beneficial for yourself and others.

A lot of people should do this - actually most of us should - but life gets in the way. People we know get in the way. Work gets in the way. Family gets in the way...etc etc etc.
We'd probably all be a lot happier if we didn't sweat the small stupidities of life, but alas we aren't wired that way.
Those who do live their lives to the fullest - usually people who are well off funny enough - are lucky as hell.

Pretty much anything that doesn't involve sitting on your ass doing nothing and watching the days go by. I'd have to agree that this is what it means. However, it's still a ridiculous thing to say, because to some people sitting on their ass doing nothing is the most enjoyable way they could spend their lives.

Try that for a change ^ What I do is when things start to get hectic and stressful. Just stop. try to detach from the situation. Take a deep breath. Try to think about something funny. Then try to reinsert back to those issues. Its like trashing, you can never get anything done by trashing that and you will burn out. We all do really sweat the little things.

Take an uncle of mine, for instance. He has a history of jobs that took him all over the U.S. and the World. The guy's been here...there...just about everywhere. He's seen a lot, and accomplished a lot. Do you know what he finds some of the most joy in? Being retired, sitting on his ass on his front porch, just people-watching and letting the day go by.
