I am about to go ahead and start getting all of my music on MP3. Any tips on this. Should I download the iTunes program or go elsewhere?
Any advice would be helpful

It depends on what exactly you're going to do after you organize your music collection. Do you have an iPod/Phone? Or do you use another MP3 player? Or, are you just going to have it organized on your computer?
If you're just going to have it on your computer, iTunes will be effective for your task. Same with owning an iPod/Phone. Otherwise, you might want to go with Doubletwist, or Windows Media Player.
Just my 2 cents.

like he said if you are also getting a ipod then sure, but if you are just listening on your computer (as i do) the default programs work just fine.

Getting an iPod/iPhone - iTunes. Listening to music generally - Winamp, Windows Media Player, MediaMonkey

Itunes is fairly decent for downloading music and putting it on your Ipod, but any of the default media players work fine for listening to it on your computer. The knock I have on itunes is that there are a bunch of albums I've looked for on there that they just don't have.

Ok here is a stupid questionL Where else can I load my Mp3s onto besides an IPod/Computer? Well, CDs, for starters. MP3s take up less space than whatever kind of file typical audio CDs use, so you can put many more songs onto an MP3 CD. If you have a phone that plays MP3s, you could do that too. I'm sure there are more options out there but honestly my brain is set to "off" right now.
