So, I got Gran Turismo 5 and needless to say, I found the soundtrack very lacking. Anyone got some good picks for racing music?
It's funny because the last 3 games had awesome music.

I usually play this song to pump me up before I play NHL 11 or any video game really. So give this one a shot while you're playing and see if it gets you excited to play like it does for me.

Depends on what you like, really. I know what _I_ think sounds good in a racing game, but that doesn't mean anybody else will agree. Still, here a few songs that work for me. (No videos, since I'm at work)
- DJ Micro - "Sound Barrier" - Feeder - "Miss You" - Delphic - "Doubt" - Safri Duo - "Played Alive" - Carl Cox - "Phuture 2000" (Deepsky Remix) - Deepsky - "Ride" - Nick Rowland - "Faith" - Pendulum - "Propane Nightmares" - Praga Khan - "Injected with a Poison" (BK & Nick Sentience Remix)
Just for starters.

Just done this with Hot Pursuit actually, I got all the songs I liked from Hot Pursuit, mix it in with all the songs I liked from previous Need for Speeds/Burnouts and Gran Turismos and made a playlist so I could just ride along to it, works wonders.

That is badass. Indeed it is. In fact from NHL 95-2000, EA created their own music for the games with the help from an independent song writer named Jeff Van Dyck. He produced some really good stuff. The NHL 97 Menu song is just as badass ass in an Industrial metal sort of way:

how about "Light 'Em Up" or "Run" by Day of Fire, "Pretending" by Eric Clapton, "Downfall" or "Stronger" by TRUSTco., or "Revelations" by Audioslave?

More to come, but I've got work now. Nice! I was coming to post this, ever since I heard this in a Nascar PS1 game way back when ('98 maybe) I've always associated it with racing and cars

Check out the Need for Speed Underground sountrack. They have a number of good ones (like that last song) on there.
I also like Motorhead Ace of Spades while racing as well.
