I just got to thinking about this earlier after seeing the Fact or Faked episode about the moon landings being faked...
Does anyone else find it pretty silly that on one hand "They totally faked the moon landings just to beat the Commies" back in the 60s.
Yet..."There is no way they could have faked the Patterson Bigfoot video, it was the 60s man."
So...people can fake going to the freakin' moon in the 60s? But there is no way they could make that Bigfoot suit?
Make up your mind, conspiracy people.

You see that kind of stuff all the time. A few months back I was watching a show on The History Channel about the history of video games. When the subject of games causing violence came up, all the "experts" adamantly stated that video games could not influence a person's behavior, period. But then about a half an hour later in the show, the exact same "experts" were criticizing military sponsored games because they were "brainwashing" kids into joining the military. Huh? Keep in mind that these were video game "experts" and not psychology "experts," but they still made themselves look kinda silly. I'm sure there are many more examples out there.

I'm of the opinion that both cases were real, simply because from what I've read I think it is more likely that they actually happened rather than being faked.

This reminds me of Penn & Teller BS. They always have some person sitting there stating something as fact saying that science has never proved it or something like that. Then it cuts to some very high level scientist/doctor in that field saying the exact opposite and that it would be crazy to think otherwise.

I love that show, and wonder how often the "experts" ignore the scientist they have on their showing why the "experts" opinion is, in fact, wrong.

I love that show, and wonder how often the "experts" ignore the scientist they have on their showing why the "experts" opinion is, in fact, wrong. The thing about that show, you have to realize that they're not out to present both sides of the argument and let people decide. They're out there to promote their POV, and will hand-pick whomever will best promote it. That tends to mean picking the dumbest or most outlandish people on the opposing side, then picking the best possible person to represent their side. So yeah, that show is best taken as two people promoting their political side, but you can't take it at all as an accurate depiction of the opposing side. They'll take any raving lunatic with a fancy title they could to present the opposing viewpoint. It's amazing that people point to it as pure fact that one side is right over the other, when it shouldn't be too hard to see what P&T, who are very political and opinionated, are presenting.

Well I'd hope people watching it aren't watching thinking P and T aren't biased at all....

I wouldnt be shocked either way on both issues. Its kinda weird we havent done more with the moon if we were capable of landing there 50 years ago especially with the advances in computers and technology as a whole since then. Even if the moon is completely barren is there nothing to be gained from it? Wouldnt the experience be valuable just as practice to see if we could land people on Mars? The Bigfoot video is probably fake but I cant say there isnt some kind of similar creature. Its doubtful but I'm not ruling it out.

Seems like my dad said that when he was watching the moon landing as a youth, his dad simply said, "Bullshit, they aren't on the moon. They're out in a desert somewhere," and got up went about his business.
Of course, that may have just been that, coming from the time and place that he did, he couldn't conceive of it being possible. I don't know.

In three weeks, they won't even have a shuttle anymore. Yes, they have to get back to the moon and any trip to Mars is going to have to start from a Moon base. There's a ton of work to be done and I think part of the reason they haven't gone back since 71 or whenever the last mission was is because of cash. Why is it always THE Moon landing was faked? We've been there more than once. So, just the first was faked and the rest are real?

I just don't see why people deny the moon landing. We've recreated it exactly with our finest animatronics.
