Anyone else remember his post New Rockers heel turn? I don't rememer all the details, but I believe he got sick of being a joke. I recall him growing his goatee out and being more aggressive in the ring. Was kind of a prototype Al Snow.

Wasent it the only time Marty was a heel when they tagged together? For two talented workers, they never really had a lot of chemistry with each other Marty and Al.

They were a very good in-ring combo. However, they were using a passe gimmick that was acknowledged as a passe gimmick by everyone from the announcers to WWF magazine. Additionally, they were never put in a strong feud, and weren't great on the mike (especially as heels). But in the ring, they were very good. Marty performing many of his classic moves & Al was more of a power man.

I loved evil Leif. I remember him getting upset by Scott Taylor and he freaked out screaming at JR and King.

Glad a few people remember it. I saw him wrestle Flash Funk at a house show around '96 or so. Pretty good match.

Actually, I think they were always heels, except for the first week or two. Supposedly Shawn Michaels was responsible for them becoming comedy jobber heels, as he didn't want Marty getting over with his old gimmick. Marty performing many of his classic moves & Al was more of a power man. The gimmick was that it was passe, and they were stuck in the 70's. Knock it all you want, but I was watching the Fatal 4-way tag match at Summerslam 96, and they were in there with hillbillies, cowboys, and fitness fanatics. So they arguably had the best gimmick of the tag teams at the time.

There is a really great New Rockers/Body Donnas match on youtube people should check out. I really enjoyed the New Rockers.
Whatever happened to promotions just throwing a "new" in front of an old tag team name? New Rockers, New Blackjacks and New Midnight Express were hilarious and gave guys something to do. JTG and Vance Archer don't seem to be doing anything. They could be thrown together as New Cryme Tyme.
Yes, I'm aware the idea is horrible.

That was really good match.. even if it had a huge wrestlecrap moment in it. First time I ever saw a top rope powerbomb... from Marty Jannetty.

I saw a match on Youtube once from right after Bret Hart turned heel and interrupted a match between Leif and (I think) Rocky Maivia and he attacks Rocky and starts heading toward the ramp and crosses paths with Leif coming out of the ring and he just looks at Bret and gives him a thumbs up and walks off. Just a great random moment.

If y'all wanna see a fun evil Leif match, look up Leif Cassidy vs Matt Hardy on Youtube. He beats the hell out of jobber era Matt, including a belly to belly suplex over the top rope to the floor.
