Bailey was found dead on August 30, 2010, having passed away in his sleep. Prior to his death he had complained of headaches and numbness in his hands. The cause of death was later determined to be due to a brain aneurysm, caused by multiple concussions and blows to the head. His brain is expected to be donated for research at Boston University.
We Will Miss You!

it sucks he's dead, why he died means little to me, I loved his work and wish his family and friends the best. It's not a drama, it;s a man;s death. Love him or leave him, he was someone who cared about his business.

Somehow i doubt that it was only because of concussions, i mean if that was the case, guys like Mick Foley and Terry Funk would be long dead. And with Bailey's past full of drug abuse and other shit, it would be stupid to think that shit didn't play a role.
Anyway nobody deservers to die at such a young age, he may have had problems and did some stupid problems, but he deserved a chance to change his life.

Foley and Funk haven't done the shit Bailey has done for CZW/IWA-MS/IPW/etc. Sure, guys like Funk and Foley got beat up BAD, but it wasn't near the blunt trauma guys like Bailey have taken. And about the drugs, no. Just no. Bailey's been clean for quite a while, and after talking to Billy (Gram), he thinks it would be stupid to think that shit DID play a role.

Anyway nobody deservers to die at such a young age, he may have had problems and did some stupid problems, but he deserved a chance to change his life. Dr. Bennet Omalu's research into CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy, aka punch-drunk syndrome for people other than boxers) in athletes (to my knowledge, just pro wrestlers and professional football players to this point) has shown pretty conclusively that concussions alone can cause death, if not directly, by altering brain chemistry and function. Basically, people who've received multiple concussions often will exhibit behavioral changes, act impulsively, experience symptoms common to mood disorders and schizophrenia, etc. Chris Benoit, Bengals WR Chris Henry, Steelers OL Mike Webster, and a number of other NFL linemen all have tragic stories tied to their premature deaths. So far as the "if him, then Foley/Funk," you have to remember that everyone's body is different right down to the DNA. How thick is one's skull? How resilient is one's brain? How frequent were the concussive blows, and how did the recipient treat his symptoms? Foley and Funk, unlike a lot of young hardcore wrestlers, know how to work. They would know to take it easy by being psychologically sound in matches when they were working brain-hurt (I assume nights off generally aren't an option). What kind of protection would be shown at a ToD/KotDM? Funk was hardcore as hell, but that doesn't mean he was bumping and taking chair shots at the same rate as younger generation guys like Bailey. In his era, matches and feuds built up to the Big Shots. And blading/bleeding aren't the same as the head shots.

I find it fascinating you know more about the cause of death of this young man then the trained medical examiners who studied the actual body and the circumstances surrounding the death.

God god almighty, what in the BLUE HELL is wrong with that Ian Rotten?!?!?!?!? The parents must have been mortified. I'm surprised he walked away from that with the same amount of teeth he had when he showed up.

God, I hope that garbage wrestling just kinda goes away or tones itself down. It's such a brutal toll on the bodies and Bailey is an unfortunate victim of the style.

To everyone crapping on Deathmatch wrestling, anyone can say "Oh I wish the WWE didn't have a system where a lot of wrestlers get hooked on steroids and pain killers. That way Eddie Guerrero wouldn't be dead. That way Test wouldn't be dead."
It's all wrestling. People die. It's the nature of the business. To call something like CZW "garbage" is a crime in itself, when they've been putting on high quality shows since Zandig left.
Bailey had a choice to protect himself or not to protect himself. If you look at a lot of Nick Gage's deathmatches his hands are in his face on every single weapon shot.
Look at Thumbtack Jack, the dude blocks everything. Sure he'll take a needle through the cheek but he isn't going to die from that. Sure the guys take light tubes to the back. They aren't going to die from that. But they have a choice to protect their brains, most of them do. JC didn't. JC's dead.
Didn't Chris Benoit have a similar looking brain according to Nowinski? Chris Benoit sure as hell wasn't a "garbage" wrestler, was he? The dude just decided not to protect himself when he got hit with chairs. There are far worse things in wrestling than deathmatches, nobody was like "WE HAVE TO STOP THE DRUG PROBLEM IN WRESTLING!!!" when Trent Acid OD'd.
