i sure miss judges feedback on our choices LOL Sorry, but 15-20 songs a round drives me up a wall trying to write something for them. Same, most of mt thoughts come on my post once all the songs go up and for this round I'll say that some categories were really hard to judge, some not so much.

Just waiting on cageking. His theme is in this round, so I'd thought I'd wait for him. If not, I'll start writing out the results Wednesday.
AS for the new theme... I'll make it easy on the judges and contestants, based on recent comments.
Only one theme:
Top 3 - FREE CHOICE ROUND. Send me 3 songs each.
Start sending me songs for that now, so I can send them to the judges by Thursday Night. There will be no more Sing Offs. Everyone who does not have the lowest score advances to the next round and then the Finale.

Odd. I remember sending the PM and checked my outbox to make sure like I do every round. Anywho, Results shall be up after work, then top three right away. Then Finale and we're done! (Gosh, hosting 2 comps in a row is tough.) If need be, I can host the next FAN Idol (provided enough people want to play).

Results FINALLY: The first theme was Hip-Hop and Rap songs. I particularly found one song choice much stronger than the rest... in Heavy D. But it was another song choice that earned the top marks. The highest scored rap song was: Blackstreet ft. Dr. Dre and Queen Pen - "No Diggity" picked by Z-A, earning him 16 pts. The lowest scored song was Anthrax - "I'm The Man" chosen by Gus Richlen who scored 6 pts for the score. So far: Z-A 16 Pegasus Widow's Peak Gus Richlen 6 * Next theme is duets. One song choice earned PERFECT Score (I always liked that song) This song was: Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer - "Baby It's Cold Outside" Chosen by Z-A who earned 20 points. Great job! The lowest score was Wyclef Jean featuring Mary J. Blige - “ 911” Chosen by Widow's Peak who earned 7 pts. So far: Z-A 16+20 Pegasus Widow's Peak 7 Gus Richlen 6 * Next theme was COVER Songs. This round's high scorers were tied between two people. First Gloria Estefan – “Turn the Beat Around” Chosen by Pegasus Warrior who earned 15 pts! The other was Tesla - "Signs" Chosen by Z-A who also earned 15 Pts! The lowest score was Quiet Riot - "Mama Were All Crazee Now" Chosen by Gus Richlen, earning him 7 pts. Might as well reveal Widow's Peak's song: Alien Ant Farm - “Smooth Criminal” earning herself 13 pts! So far: Z-A 16+20+15 Widow's Peak 7+13 Pegasus 15 Gus Richlen 6+7 * The Final Theme, IMO was BY FAR the best set of songs this round. The theme was Voice. This round was so good, that I really wanted to give EVERYONE 4s. In fact I didn't even want to rank this round at all if I had to score any of these choices Low. So I based it on markdom rather than anything else. For Example, I love Aretha Franklin, one of the greatest voices ever in music, fitting the theme perfectly. In fact I've chosen her before in a past competition with "Dr. Feelgood" that's how much I like her. But compared to the rest of the songs this time, I wasn't too surprised with her (Excellent) performance here and didn't enjoy it as much as the other three choices. ANYWAY Top choice was: Huey Lewis and the News - "It's Alright" (Acapella) Chosen by Gus Richlen... who earned 16 pts! Bottom choice was Aretha Franklin -“Nessun Dorma” Chosen by Widow's Peak earning 9 pts. So far: Z-A 16+20+15 Widow's Peak 7+13+9 Pegasus 15 Gus Richlen 6+7+16 As you can see Z-A is OBVIOUSLY SAFE!16+20+15+14= 55 Pts! First Place. WELCOME TO THE TOP 3! Pegasus has a lonesome 15 pts above, BUT has not had ANY Bottom Scores... Peggy's Pts are: 15+13+15+11= 54 Pts! Earning you 2nd Place! WELCOME TO THE TOP 3! Now only one remains to enter the Top three. Either Widow's Peak or Gus Richlen. One of your journey's end here. The other will be only one round close to the Finale! Let's add up your scores so far. Widow's Peak: 7+13+9= 29 pts! Gus Richlen: 6+7+16= 29 pts! So it's a TIE! Only one song left for each of you. Hopefully that final score can lift you ahead of the other! Let's see what they are: Widow's Peak, You Chose: LL Cool J - "Mama Said Knock You Out" Gus Richlen, You Chose: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEkd5dmGKRQGus you've earned: {Spoiler}10 pts for your choice!
Meaning you have a total of 39 pts! Which means Widow's Peak must score at least 1 point higher than that to advance to the Final Three! (Since the tension theme is gone, I'll just post this awesome music for Dramatic Effect!) Widow's Peak for your final song choice you have earned: {Spoiler}13 Points!
Earning you a final total of 42 Points! Which means WIDOW'S PEAK...
CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE IN THE TOP 3!
Gus you did awesomely and I hope to see you again in the next competition, maybe as part of the panel! Congratulations Final Three! Here is the Spread Sheet Chart: {Spoiler} Songs will be sent out to the judges soon! Stay Tuned!

I loved that write-up. One of my favorite moments as a contestant. Totally into this game! "Dies Irae!" Ha! That. Was. Awesome. *clap-clap* *clap-clap-clap*
Gus, you're totally awesome as a contestant. Having been paired with you in the dreaded partner round once, it was just as obvious there as when I see you in the regular round-to-round stuff.
I've also been a Z-A music selection fan since the game first started for the most part, and it seems like he's overcome that *one round* that always seems to be his demise in these games. The head-to-head elimination duels really worked in your favor, and you've truly taken advantage.
Widow's Peak. What can I say? Always respect for her. ALWAYS. Love this FAN Forum member! And when music is the topic, I'm on board with Widow's Peak a lot of the time. Last season, I suggested all of the previous winners and runners-up re-join the competition pool, and as I mentioned to Widow's Peak in the "judges house" last year, I thought it would be great to end head-to-head with her toward the end of the competition. The outcome of this game has been as fun as I imagined it. Congrats to Widow's Peak for being right there at the end. It's the head-to-head that I wanted all along, and I'm loving it!

I KNEW "I'm The Man" was a risk, but I really don't know many rap-related songs and I wanted to do something unorthodox. And as it turns out, being unorthodox hurts me again. TWICE (the other being Toby and Sting).

Sent the list to the judges, but then finally cleared my entire PM box, that was cluttered with like 2000+ messages. Would any of the judges mind posting up the song list here for everyone to see? Also Top 3 contestants, would you also mind sending me your song lists again? I now have no record of whose song is whose. Sorry!

Song list right here...
Guys, you did a really good job this round. Some of you picked artists I loved, but just didn't pick the right song for them. And someone made my inner fanboy mark-out huge.

Such kind words. The one thing I've loved about this judging panel is its unpredictability. There have been a few moments in this competition that I thought I had a sure-fire-can't-miss hit on my hands only to be brutally smacked down by the judges. As a result, I have no idea where my selections will place, but I am quite proud of them regardless. Best of luck to Pegasus and Z-A who are both formidable contestants and both deserve to make it to the finals. Its too bad only one of you will.

Same with me as well. Liked most of the artists used, though some of them could've had a better song in place of the ones used. Also, I marked HYOOGE for one of those nine songs in particular.

I'm afraid I'll have to pass on being guest judge this round, as the home computers have been rather slow lately and it takes forever for videos to load.
