Sent in my re rankings, only because one song is better upon second hearing and. another song has just completely blew me away more then it did before That's a great segue for this ... I know what you mean, Cageking. I was going to do this at some point if I got asked to be back in the judges' panel next year, but now, with the wait for the Finalists to be announced, it seems like good filler. I've played one season before this one as a contestant and have judged in others. Overall, I'm going to say that I feel like I have a versatile music library of interests, and I've ranked no one genre consistently over another. Sure, I have blatantly despised bands and/or songs and/or choices, but I definitely love more music than I hate. So with that being said ... I give you my list of Top Screw-Ups in the Judging Panel (Season 1, Season 3-4): 6. {Spoiler}Muse – “Hysteria” (chosen by THE Baldy Kendrick Season 1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dm_5qWWDV8I originally had this song ranked below a spontaneous mark-out pick. I had Alter Bridge's "Metalingus” above this song in one of the best overall rounds of Season 1. At the time, that system's scoring meant "Hysteria" got no awarded points, because of where I had it just outside of the points “cut off” ranking. For whatever reason, the wrestling connection--one of the very first wrestling connections in the game--kinda made me mark and I ranked a song lower because of it that I realize now should have been ranked one step higher. 5. {Spoiler}Jay-Z and Alicia Keys – “Empire State of Mind” (chosen by Scruffy Season 1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UjsXo9l6I8For some reason, I had song ranked “not in 2nd” in the round it was used. I got caught up in rewarding some picks that were more off-centered and different that I didn’t really get that this gem was staring me right in the face. In this round, I also marked for a wrestling song, and put an song not as good ahead of it. In the comments round, I even no-sold how good this song is by not even leaving a comment about it. Though I still think it wasn’t #1 of the round, this song still deserved better treatment. 4. {Spoiler}The Swell Season - "When Your Mind's Made Up" (chosen by Square Season 4) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MgPqYKG2y4I had it 3rd for the round. This song couldn’t get 3rd in anything if it tried. I went with a great song that was unique to the round for my second place vote, and I missed the mark on that one. I watched the Paula Abdul show “Live to Dance” (and lived through it) and they used this song once again for one of the numbers. It was a dreadful reminder that I had not done the song justice in the round. Yes, third was simply not high enough. Should’ve been locked in EASILY at second for me. 3. {Spoiler}The Cure (UK) – “Love Song” (chosen by Z-A Sandbaggin' Son of a B*#%h Season 1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PZcgi4c5XQTotal injustice on my part. Ok, so I had it ranked third instead of second, no big deal. WRONG. This was the second best pick of the round. I think I gave credit to Sweden (The Hives) over the UK (The Cure) in a round of European Artists because The Hives (who I LOVE admittedly) were just such a unique pick over one of FOUR UK bands chosen that round. Terrible. “Love Song” is one of the greatest. So what if it was only ranked one pick below the song above it! It was easily #2 of that round. (Sidenote: my number one markout moment up until season 4 was the song that won that round.) 2. {Spoiler}David Bowie - Life On Mars? (chosen by Scruffy Season 4) www.youtube.com/watch?v=v--IqqusnNQShould have been #2 instead of #4 of the round in my rankings. It really could’ve even been number one actually. But as soon as I hit the send button for my rankings of that round (with 18 participants) I knew I should’ve done better with this song. Heck, I even made the comment that I had listened to it 8-10 times since the songs were sent out to judges. Who DOES that and doesn’t rank the song number one?! That’s just bad. 1. {Spoiler}Arcade Fire – “Wake Up” (chosen by Widow’s Peak Season 1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEKC5pyOKFUAnd the thing about this song …? My poor judgment almost cost SEASON ONE WINNER Widow’s Peak … TO BE ELIMINATED!!! She was statistically tied for last after that round and had to go to a “sing off” to battle her way back in (by one vote, at that). But wait. There was a trick to this particular round (the round of Top 5). In that round, the song itself was paired with another song and they were to be judged TOGETHER. So, in my defense, it wasn’t that this song hit bottom of the barrel just on its own merit. Also, every judge had Widow’s Peak’s songs no higher than 3 out of 5 for that particular round (and at least I didn’t have it 5 out of 5 like some). So that gets me off the hook, right? Umm, no. This song is AMAZING! In that particular round, this song alone should have probably been number 1, even among some GREAT classics. True, Widow’s Peak’s second song choice was not one of the top 2 in my opinion, but that still shouldn’t have warranted enough to pull it down like it did … to the brink of elimination! And with that, I give you … the Top Screw-up in FAN/WC Idol Judging Panel History.

So I'll just score the rankings that were sent. I'll try to do that tonight after work, if I'm not too exhausted by then. Cool list PW. I had the same thoughts on Life on Mars, but I did manage to score that #1. I think I screwed up on a few rankings before as well, forgot which ones though. The one I can think of at the top of my head is scoring Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" at third instead of first that "New Songs" theme. What the heck was I thinking? I love that song and should have given it better credit.

First of all, I must say, Congratulations to all of you making it this far. You three did NOT disappoint, not at all! This was a FANTASTIC Round. I really had a tough time scoring everything between 1-9! Although my Ranks #1 and #9 were a bit easier! By the Scores I think you'll all have an interesting Result in store for you tonight! This round even had one of my top 3 favorite picks of this competition! So now... This is FAN Idol AKA The X Factor, we are LIVE, for your Results! We'll go by each song! Demented's favorite pick was: Local H - "Bound for the Floor" chosen by Z-A!
Cageking and PKS scored the song modestly, but the two other judges were harsh! Your score for this song is: 22 points!
Demented's least favorite pick was: Best Coast - "Boyfriend" chosen by Widow's Peak.
ALL The judges Except One, scored this song harshly! Earning you 14 pts!PKS's favorite pick was: The Five Stairsteps – “O-o-h Child” Chosen by Pegasus Warrior!
The other judges scored it modestly well, earning you 29 pts!
PKS's least favorite pick was the same as Demented's (Seen above). ^So far the scores are: PW: 29 Z-A: 22 WP: 14 * Bergman's favorite pick was: Poe - "Angry Johnny" chosen by Z-A!
The judge's scored them across the board! Earning you a total number of 33 pts for this song alone!
Bergman's least favorite choice was also from Z-A, being Local H - "Bound for the Floor" as seen above. ^^Sudden Rush and Cage King SHARED the same #1 Song Pick for this round! I must give you MAJOR props, as you chose a song that basically fits 100% with the type of music I listen to, by a great new band. I listened to your pick here, many many times! Love the song, love the genre, love the band, love you! Strong vibes, reminding me of a band I've used before.
Ok, I'm sorry for going on a tangent. That song and band I'm talking about is: Foster the People - "Pumped up Kicks" - Awesomely Psychadelic.
... Chosen by Z-A!
Bergman scored the song pretty well, too. The other two judges scored it on the lower end... for a score of: 30 pts!So far the scores are: Z-A: 22+33+30 = A combined score of 85 pts! PW: 29 WP: 14 All Z-A's song choices are up, which means the combined score of 85 is the score to beat! Well I'll tell you something right now: {Spoiler}WELCOME TO THE FINALE Z-A!
Which means the final spot is reserved for one of two previous winners.
A head to head battle between S1's Winner: Widow's Peak and S2's Winner: Pegasus Warrior! Let's see the last four songs, shall we? * ROUND 1: Blue October – “Into the Ocean” (Pegasus) VS Tom Waits - "Jockey Full Of Bourbon" (Widow) ... A close battle. Catching 25 points over 23 points, the winner of this round is... {Spoiler}Blue October – “Into the Ocean” (Pegasus)
Which means:
Z-A: 22+33+30 = 85 pts PW: 29 + 25 = 54 pts WP: 14 + 23 = 37 pts
* ROUND 2 THE FINAL SONGS: Regina Spektor – “Dance Anthem of the 80’s” (Pegasus) VS Pat Benatar - "Love is a Battlefield" (Widow's Peak) Okay we're down to the Wire here... Can Widow's Peak catch up with her Final Song Choice and overcome Pegasus Warrior's Final Song Choice in the last round to advance to the FINALE? Pegasus Warrior scored 17 points with his choice, which means Widow's Peak must score 34 points to advance onto the FINALE!!! Which means: Z-A: 22+33+30 = 85 pts PW: 29+25+16= 70 pts WP: 14 + 23 = 37 pts Can she do it? Let's find out! Pat Benatar - "Love is a Battlefield" (Widow's Peak), scored a total of... {Spoiler} 33 Points!!!
Which Means.... WHAT?!? A TIE!?! No F'N WAY!!!
This can only be solved one way in order for one of you to earn your spot in the FINALE vs Z-A!
One last Face Off between two musical titans! That's right...
SING OFF
You must each send me a song choice to send to the judges! The judges will decided with a vote. Thank you and good luck!
I will Post the Finale Themes on Thursday! Here is the chart: {Spoiler} Thank you again guys, for such a magnificent round! Also thank you everyone, for waiting!

Oh and again, got to say that remembering bands that I really should look into more often like the above, by one of you guys and expanding my music library is one of the reason's I love the game so much. Rock on guys! I hope the next game comes up quick after this. I'd love to play again! (Hosting is tough!)

Props to Z-A for making the final. Angry Johnny made me go nuts. Ironically enough it was Jon Jones' first enterance song in the UFC before he switched to Empire State of Mind, which made me markout even more. Also I agree with Sawyer on Pumped Up Kicks, the thing that sells that song for me is that bassline. It just grooves and sets up the rest of the track.

FAN Idol Alumni, LodiRulz:
"It was so much fun being on that show. At the time, I was 13. Kind of ironic, since I pretty much hate every single that's below the age of 18. (Laughs) I pretty much blew hard in the beginning, because of my inexperience. In some category's, I had no clue what to chose. I didn't really know what fit. Picking a song from a band that was already used didn't help ether. I had to be carried in some rounds like a baby. But at one point, I became #1 on the chart. That feeling was just amazing, and I will never forget the experience I had."
"As for who I think should win this whole thing? Gotta go with Z-A. He's the one who eliminated me, and his song choices are crisp and just fun to listen to. As for a sing off for the finale spot? I still can't believe it. Widow's Peak vs Pegasus? I can't call it. I'd even go to call it the best sing off they have ever had. But now matter who wins, I'll be the one yelling from the stands:
LET"S GO Z-A! LET"S GO! (Claps twice)
Ha ha ha. It's good to be here, and I wish all of the remaining contestants the best of luck."

Tie Breaker TimeGin Blossoms - "Hey Jealousy" (Widow's Peak) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ah5gAkna3jI&ob=av2eVS Jane's Addiction - "Jane Says" (Pegasus Warrior) www.dailymotion.com/video/xsx54_janes-addiction-jane-says-live_musicYou've come this far. Time to see what the judges had to say about your picks: Judge #1 One of the best songs from the '90s vs. not Been Caught Stealing. Easy pick for me. Judge #2 I really wish I didn't have to chose. The feel of Jane Says is something that I could just throw on and relax to all day with the steel drums and nice guitar work, but Hey Jealousy is so hook filled and singable...Judge #3 Another sing off, another one where I like neither of songs chosen. Like the last time this happened, I'm going with the lesser of two evils.Judge #4 The first time I heard this song, I just couldn't get away from it. The decision was.... {Spoiler} Unanimous.Gin Blossoms - "Hey Jealousy" (Widow's Peak) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ah5gAkna3jI&ob=av2eWins 4-0, Which Means: CONGRATULATIONS WIDOW'S PEAK. YOU ARE IN THE FINALE!Pegasus, great job as always. Your music tastes are amazing. Just utterly amazing and I'm glad to have seen you make it this far, for me to listen to the music you had to share with all of us. I hope to see you again, for The X Factor, maybe as a judge again! CONGRATULATIONS FINAL 2!!! This is a rough draft of the rounds for the finale, as I'm still waiting on judges to send me their bands of choice. It's generally what will be listed here, but fixed later to have more info on the judges picks! Skull Crushing Finale! Each Round will be as follows: 1. Judges will send me a list on artists/bands. From those lists, I'll take three-five. I will list those choices in the revision of this round and from those judge selected choices, you will choose a song from an artist/band, for round #1, #2, #3, #4.Each round, must be a different band/artist, each from separate judges. One of the judges for the Finale will be our *Third Place Contestant* 2. (Same as #1) 3. (Same as #1) 4. (Same as #1) 5. NEW SONGS PART2: Songs from 2007 Till Now. 6. Song & Dance Round, where music choice sent in, must have dancing of some sort in the video. 7. Free Choice 8. Free Choice 9. Free Choice 10. Free Choice That's Right.... 10 songs each. I know you can do it! Judges will each VOTE FOR ONE choice for each round...AND ALSO add a comment for each song and a reason why they chose their winner for each round. FINALLY: ANYBODY AT ALL, CAN SEND ME THEIR VOTES FOR EACH ROUND!11 Different Sets of match-ups, to decide a winner! That's all contestants! Start thinking! You can start sending me your choices after the judge's picks lists are up! Any Questions from anybody, just post them here, or PM me!

Thanks for a great game, everyone. I knew it from the get-go that Widow's Peak had it won as soon as Gin Blossoms hit the board.
I had some other judge-friendly picks to go with, but in the sing-off, I realized I had reached my goal in a showdown with Widow's Peak, so I picked a song that's one of my all-time faves. If I had picked the other songs from other artists I had in mind, there was a chance Jane's Addiction wouldn't have made it to the game, so I just decided to uncork it there, because I've wanted to pick that band for a long time (and "Been Caught Stealing" is way way way too easy, by the way).
My biggest regret is that my second favorite band currently out didn't get to make an appearance in the game, but I just couldn't find the spot to unleash 'em. (Strategy-wise, I just couldn't do it in the original three picks in the round of Top 3.) I thought Regina Spektor would've gotten over huge with all but one judge, and as it turns out, the band that I sacrificed for her would've put me through to finals because there's no doubt they wouldn't have scored as low as she did.
My favorite band out currently was picked in the last game, so via my own personal "I'm picking someone that's never been used" rule, I couldn't use any of my favorite songs from that band.
Judges, thanks for another great season. I loved it. And I'm in for next game, whether PKS would rather host or have me host and him judge or whatever.

Let me make sure I got this... for 1 - 4 we pick a band that one of the judges picked and a song from it... and we just can't use the same judge. So like I could pick one of bergmans artists then next i have to pick one of Pegs... and so on... Right? LOL

Hi guys. I had a big hand injury this week and can only type with my left hand.
If any of the judges wants to... may I ask if one of you can take over the formation of the two list for me and then send them to each of the judges for me, including myself? It hurts for me to do it myself and if any of you could, I'll appreciate it very much.
Just let me know and I'll copy and paste the two separate lists for you to arrange it in a way for the finale. Then again... also create the final results? Please? Thanks in advance.
