Eddie Murphy: From trading places, coming to America, 48 hours and Beverly hills cop to...Norbit, The Haunted mansion, daddy day care, bowfinger, Dr Dolittle 2, Nutty professor 2, the adventures of pluto nash, meet dave, imagine that, showtime.
Nic Cage: from Leaving Las Vegas, Wild at heart, Moonstruck and raising arizona to...the wicker man, Next, Knowing, bankok dangerous, Season of the witch.
Don't get me wrong: both still star in the occasional good movie, but generally, their output for the past few yers has been atrocious.
Both these guys will clearly do ANYTHING for a paycheck.

Without a doubt, Eddie Murphy. At least Cage can still make bank.
Kick-Ass Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (Haven't see myself, but heard good things) National Treasure franchise (Not great, but okay enough for popcorn) Weather Man Lord of War Matchstick Men Adaptation Gone in 60 Seconds
To be honest I'd say he's been in more good than bad.

I'd say Cage.
Murphy does some crap, but the guy has gone through slumps before, and can still end up in some good roles with casting directors. Plus, Murphy started out as a comic actor to begin with. Dreamgirls and a few others aside, he never had dramatic credibility to lose.
Cage just seems like an absolute parody of himself, especially considering the guy's won an academy award and delivered remarkable performances. Now he can't seem to find a movie that isn't unintentionally funny, and because of his money problems, he's willing to do anything.

Cage had Matchstick Men somewhat recently.
What has Eddie Murphy had?
EDIT: Forgot Dreamgirls. Sorry, that is a very good movie. But still.

I still think Eddie is cool but after getting that Oscar nom for Dreamgirls you would think he would try to avoid another string of low brow movies. Eddie may not be young anymore but he must still love those paychecks. He sure isn't choosy about his movies.
Norbit was actually nominated for an Oscar in makeup. You see, movies don't have to be good to make it the Oscars. There are lots of categories beyond acting or written substance.

I'd say Murphy because he really was hugely talented if you could back at look at his earlier work. Now people might remember him for crap like Norbit.

Eddie Murphy.
Nic Cage is, in the current day, capable of performances ranging from atrocious to astounding.
Eddie Murphy hasn't done a decent movie, let alone a good one, in.....what? 10 years? 15?

Murphy. I find that Cage has a lot of more enjoyable movies.

Are we completely ignoring the Shrek movies?
Gotta go with Nic Cage here.

Let's put it like this, aside from Dreamgirls, the best Eddie Murphy's done the last decade was the voice of a talking ass.

I feel a bit badfor Murphy because he's openly admitted all his bad decisions were baed on money. Just his upbringing, you never turned down huge amounts of money like that. So he did all the crappy movies, instead of stuff that would develop his talent.

Before even clicking in this thread, I thought of Nic Cage. So him.
Didn't he say he was done making movies like two years ago?

Eddie. Cage may churn out 90% crap these day, but that crap usually makes money at the box office. Eddie Murphy has Meet Dave, Pluto Nash, I Spy etc

I think Nic Cage is about a few years away from the switch turning on to realizing that he can enjoy hamming it up. If the switch isn't on already. So I picked Eddie. At least Cage's bad movies are hilariously bad. And I really want to see Drive Angry 3D.

Hell, I kinda have to pity Eddie Murphy now. The dude is 49 and he's still making films for little kids. That's.....that's just low.....
