well aside from being the killer of sports entertainment, I'm starting to think that all these sandman squashes are a way of conditioning people to his new music... the crowd knew he was coming, and wanted him to beat down the fat stripper, and they're starting to get used hearing that music and know it's time for an ass whipping. Plus old school booking: kick the crap out of jobbers for a couple weeks, and when it's time for a real fued with someone annoying, they'll mark for what they think'll be another sandman asskicking, and the story begins.
Also: I think I figured out the format now. It's pretty much: one good sabu match at the beginning, something with Kelly or someone new, a Sandman beating, some angle driven promos, and close with another long good match...

I personally don't see why they don't use the sound alike on ONS 05.

They can't use the sound alike because the fans would sing along and then Lars Ulrich would sue them for illegally singing his music.

You forgot the Big Show squashing Dreamer. It goes before Sandman's beating.

Yep, that's pretty much what I said in the ECW thread. They're just trying to get his new music over with the fans.

You could try to make some symbolism out of each of Sandman's victims. Week one could be seen as rebelling against Sci-Fi network. Week two is rebelling against coroporate sponsors and having to plug things (or something along those lines), and week three can be seen as rebelling against the WWE creative. I think week one was meant as some sort of Sci-Fi rib, but I don't know that I'd go along with the second and third interpretations I offered.

Then again, Raw did make bring in the Martian they wanted for Sci-fi...

Question:
WCW used "Seek and Destroy" by Metallica for Sting's music for a few years there at the end. They obviously bit the bullet and ponied up the cash to Lars and Co.
Why won't WWE do the same thing for Sandman?? ESPECIALLY since the music is, I'd say about 20% responsible for the overness of the character.
In fact I'd say his overness is 20% beer, 20% "Enter Sandman", 20% smoking cigs, 20% beating people with the cane during the match, and 20% making himself bleed before the match starts. (God I hope that added up to 100%)
You know what else sucks, he doesn't smoke anymore. There you go, only 60% of the overall Sandman overness is still there.

Easy, back then, Metallica were big, but not in the same mood about licensing music as they are now.

WCW just shelled out the money. It was WCW after all. It had nothing to do with what mood Metallica was in.

I just hate WWE making all these great ECW wrestlers from the past look like complete wimps.
1. Justin Credible gets SUPER SQAUSHED bt Angle
2. Balls gets semi-beat by Cena (shutters)
3. Dreamer vs. Big Show made me puke in my mouth a little

Actually, for some reason...that added up to be 285%...... But I was adding in WWE Mathematics

That is, before Vince took over. Now we'll get an opening backstage promo, Kelly fumbling with her bra, a decent (maybe) Sandman squash, more backstage promos, Danny Doring joins the Kiss My Ass club, Tony Mamaluke in a dress while Big Guido is on the toilet, and Angle vs. Big Show in a main event that looks more like John Cena vs. Great Khali.

Count Chocula should be in the new vampire group.
Note: This is my second Count Chocula reference today. I am a sad man.

Tell him what he's won, Wink! (THumbs up from Double A! Congratulations) I thought the same thing. Jobber, jobber, jobber and then a serious match. Question is: who does he fight?
