I used to play this game on my mom's computer where you were a dinosaur. I always got stuck on this one part where you had to cross a field of lava. Does that sound familiar to anybody?
edit: I just looked it up, it was called Nanosaur ;D

My first favorite video game was Day of the Tentacle. It was a fantastic point and click adventure game. I wasted a lot of hours on that game.

Some really early attempt at pseudo virtual reality. You were in a futuristic looking house/apartment, where you could interact with certain furniture. No idea what the title is, just know it was one of like 20 or so games and programs that came with Windows 95.

Not too obscure since it was a Windows 95 game, but how about Chip's Challenge?
Crank it back further to the Apple ii

I owe you one Citten, used to play that game all the time at my elementary school! Got another one from my childhood that I can't remember (played it around late 90's-early 00s). It was a math game where you would have to go through caves and climb mountains and stuff, but to advance any further in some places you'd have to answer the math questions and get money to buy stuff. Not very descriptive I know, but does it sound familiar to anybody? There was also another one where you'd have to drive a big semi cross country, I remember it not being very fun but I want to remember the name of it as well. Ring any bells for anybody? Edit - The second one I mentioned is Cross Country USA Still stuck on the math one though
