I'm going to come right out and say it - the LoSH is my favorite thing in comics. I can't say one legionnaire is my favorite, although pressed I'd say it was either Wildfire or Mon-El, and definitely no single legionnaire is up there with Superman or Alan Scott in my faves. However, Levitz, Giffen, Shooter, and others have made the Legion far and away my favorite thing about comics. It's very lame, but I almost cried to see the ease with which nearly 25 years of hurt for this franchise was wiped away with a simple "C'mon, Superman... you remember these guys, right" move. Anyone else share my love for the 30th century's premier super team?

I still need to pick up a trade of The Great Darkness Saga, and Johns/Frank bringing 'em back into the Superman fold.
One of my first comics was the aftermath of the death of Karate Kid, and the big battle on Orando between the LoSH and the LoSV which culminated in the death of Nemesis Kid etc.
Good stuff.

Great stuff. Woo, Great Darkness is a lot, I may have to check out eBay soon.
I still like the cover of I'm thinking a Supes issue where it's guest starring the Subsitutes, and they're kinda all in the background, and Clark's in the foreground, facepalming decades before that became an overused meme.

I think it's a DC comics presents, with the Subs and Ambush Bug - one of the many comics I sold when I moved to the US. Basically, Ambush Bug ends up in the Legion's era, and messes around with the Subs and the Superman Museum. Gets sick from contact with Infectious Lass, and Stone Boy bonks his head. Not much else, but it's hilarious. Obviously, written and drawn by Giffen.

Now that you mention it, yeah that sounds right. I like how in current continuity, they arrived on a short bus.

Just got the Showcase volumes for the Legion. Reserving judgment until I've read up, but I've dabbled a bit and like them well enough.
