"Always On My Mind" from the Silent Hill Shattered Memories soundtrack, performed by Akira Yamaoka and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.
Yes, it's that song Elvis used to sing, reimagined into something extremely sinister. The first time I heard this version I pretty much did a double take when I recognized what song it was.

There's two that exist that I can't find on YouTube...
Prince's "When Doves Cry" by Canadian band The Pursuit of Happiness (they did the 80's classic "I'm An Adult Now").
"I've Had The Time Of My Life" from the movie "Dirty Dancing", done by Australian band Koritni (gives it a great bar-band-rock feeling).

You know what's a sin? Not liking this. You know I've been a fan of Gamma Ray for years and I've heard the original at some point or another. However it never once dawned on me that this was a cover until now. Also high-five for being a Gamma Ray fan.

Between this and "Shout", they really MUST be limited to just 80's covers. Also, I can't find it on, como se dice, utoob? but Snapcase covered Devo's "Gates of Steel". Random? Sure. Not much of an improvement, if you ask me, but nevertheless random. OOH OOH OOH, ALMOST FORGOT Japanese math-rock band Radio Active covering the Pixies' "Dead". They turn it into something COMPLETELY different, but still amazing. It's on a tribute album called "Tribute to the Pixies". Almost all Japanese bands, except for Seafood covering "Levitate Me". Allow me to direct you to another good source for this sort of thing: Coverville. It's a thrice-weekly podcast, episodes run about 45 minutes, all devoted to covers. Sometimes he does all-request shows, sometimes entire episodes devoted to one artist (covers of their songs or by them), sometimes other themes, such as Originalville (original versions of songs that were big hits as covers, such as "Hanging On the Telephone"... originally by the Nerves, but Blondie had a hit with their cover).
