Michael jai white as jax already has me sold as any fight scene with him will un-doubtably be epic.
But i hate that this wont be a movie , seriously warner bros with the new game coming you guys are sittin on a literal gold mine and you wont give the green light forshame!!.
But maybe after these 10 episodes and the game comes out maybe there will be hope for the movie yet...i hope.

Y'know what? I think I'd actually prefer a series, so long as each episode is a decent length. Rather than cramming everything in, you can focus on a couple of characters per episode. I'm thrilled that they're doing something with it, either way.

YES!
Looking forward to really convoluted "realistic" explanations for characters.

I'm thrilled that they're doing something with it, either way. I'd like it to be something like The Walking Dead, where it's more character driven, less fights, but when there are fights, they're good and gory.

I'm actually of the opinion that no movie from that = good news. It's NOTHING like Mortal Kombat. It's just using the characters' names and SOME of them happen to have the same jobs.

Without that mysticism element in the forefront, it just seems like something completely different. Like, Baraka isn't one of those harlequin babies...he's of a race of people just like him!

They still showed Scorpion as being somewhat supernatural, and to be honest, as long as Liu Kang isn't the protagonist, I don't care what happens. I'll enjoy it regardless.

Baraka was, I think a plastic surgeon who went insane and surgically put his trademark arm blades into his arms.

Yeah that was Reptile. Baraka was, I think a plastic surgeon who went insane and surgically put his trademark arm blades into his arms. Yeah, he was. Which also gave me the thought about something...remember in that trailer it said he went insane after messing up a surgery? Well...could that be Rebirth's story of how Mileena was created? [We could just say Kitana was her twin sister.]

When interviewed like a week or so after this short came out he said if it was turned into a movie , that you would see all the familiar costumes , mystisisym etc because the short just portrayed the earth realm versions of them.
So when it was explained i had no problem with it , it keeps pretty much all the back stories complete but yet doesn't rely completely on the aspects of outworld to carry the movie , i mean what would have been the movie.
And im hoping he stays with what he originally planned the mystical stuff stays in outworld but on earth it's them on a more realistic level.

Really looking forward to this. It's fun concept to introduce to the MK Universe. Hopes it does well too.
