CAPTAIN PLA-oh you get it.
I never watched Captain Planet except for the last five minutes. Because if you remember, TBS used to have a schedule where all their shows started five minutes past the hour.

How there hasn't been a live adaptation, I have no clue. I'm shocked one wasn't rushed out while An Inconvenient Truth was big.

CAPTAIN PLA-oh you get it. I never watched Captain Planet except for the last five minutes. Because if you remember, TBS used to have a schedule where all their shows started five minutes past the hour. I never knew why they did this, so I just looked it up. "By using "Turner Time," TBS Superstation programs were listed under their own time entry in TV Guide during the log listings era, thus enabling the program listings to catch potential viewers' eyes more readily. It also encouraged channel surfers who could not find anything interesting to watch at the top of the hour to still be able to watch a TBS program without missing the first few minutes. Most importantly, since shows ended five minutes later than normal, from a strategic standpoint the off-time scheduling usually encouraged viewers to continue watching TBS rather than flip to watch another program already in progress." from TBS's wikipedia article

Captain Planet is horrible. When i was younger and watched it the 3 or four times i began to root for the bad guys, because Captain Planet and his team of political correct wusses was such a bad joke and don't get me started on Gaia . One of the bad guys was named Duke Nukem, i always thought that was funny.

Captain Planet was awesome. I dunno how it'll hold up as an adult, but I loved it. In fact I even had the action figures.

Not interested as while I used to like Captain Planet when I was a nipper, the show has really aged badly and looks s*** when not viewed with the nostalgia filter on.

I loved Captain Planet as a kid and I am happy to see it get released on DVD.
But I'm curious. Why was Heart included? It definitely had to be the most useless power in the show.

It definitely had to be the most useless power in the show. 5 was a good number for the team I guess? The diversity of the team required another power, and nothing else came up? What else would sound good in the list? EARTH! FIRE! WIND! WATER!.....SHOCK!.... GRAVITY!....
