Has it ever happened before where both wrestlers in a feud turned right in the middle of it? Like the face becomes a heel and vice versa. Something like that would make a lot of sense for this feud. It happened with Bret and Austin.

Diet Coke needs to be the main or a big part of the feud.

CM Punk is upset because when Nexus attacked, Cena and Punk had a common threat. As far as Punk was considered, while he and Cena were never on the same page, they could both agree that Nexus' attack was horribly underhanded and an attack on the WWE as a whole. Punk was ready to stand by Cena and Punk imagined they were on the same page.
Then what does Cena do? He teams up with Daniel Bryan! This proves to Punk that Cena was never opposed to the underhanded tactics of the Nexus. Cena was only upset he was attacked. To Cena it was never about defending the WWE, it was merely selfish revenge. If Cena really opposed the attitude and tactics of Nexus, he wouldn't simply ally with a traitor.
On top of all that, Cena then began using ambush tactics and attacks that were just as underhanded as what the Nexus was doing.
Punk realized that Cena wasn't fighting for the WWE, he wasn't fighting against Nexus' devious attacks, he was fighting simply out of selfish revenge and he endangered the WWE by trusting DBD instead of standing up to the horrible actions that DBD supported.
Punk wanted to fight the wrongness of the Nexus on behalf of the WWE, where it is tough to tell if Cena would have ever stepped up unless the Nexus specifically targeted him.

CM Punk has learned that John Cena gave Samoa Joe a scrunchie for Christmas, when Punk had bought Joe one himself. As such he's now seeking revenge.

My theory is that Punk will play the role he does so well: sanctimonious prick. He'll whine about how Cena acts like a jerk and brutalizes his opponents yet gets cheered, conveniently forgetting to put the events in context and that he himself is guilty of the same things except far worse (terrorizing Rey's daughter, trying to break Big Show's hand, beating down Evan Bourne post match, etc).
I also predict Punk's more ardent fans will proclaim him 100% correct in this, and create thread after thread about it.

But, that is still completely true.

Fans like yourself should be writing for the WWE as part of the supposed creative team they have now. But that is a brilliant storyline and it would set up for some interesting promos if that's how it turns out.

Cena does wrong things as it's the only way to accomplish what is right. Punk does wrong things as he thinks what he does is right (Or at least, his ends justify his means) The only problem is that the storytelling/commentary DOES treat Punk as a shades of grey character. The only person who has made Cena look like a shades of grey character is... well, Punk himself.

I have a set up for Mania (if it's over a title), Punk wins RR and Cena wins at EC.

Well, Punk, at the Slammys, said he had unfinished business with someone. Their last match ended when Nexus interrupted them. hence, he and Cena have a match to finish. That's really all Punk wants.

Ah but this complaint is more about the useless nature of Coles commentary praising everything Cena does then questioning who the villain in Cena/Punk is

Punk is mad at Cena for not giving him credit. He did mentor him on NXT after all.
