The question is WWE themselves put that much importance to MSG?
I could care less myself if they never hold WM in MSG (despite it being the closest to my home of all possible venues in nest few years). Though it would be cool to hold RR in MSG regularly.

It all comes down to money or tradition. Like stated before, they could make a ton more money booking a stadium, but Madison Square Garden is synonymous with Wrestlemania. I don't see what the big deal is anyway, Wrestlemania only comes around once a year, they've been booking stadiums for years now, it's not like they're going to go bankrupt because they're not booking a stadium for Wrestlemania 30. I'd much rather see Wrestlemania 30 in Madison Square Garden with 20,000 rabid New York fans, rather than some random football arena with 60,000 people. I'm all for tradition in this case, Wrestlemania should be booked at Madison Square Garden every 10 years, it's only right.
Not really a big deal or anything, but I see New York fans as a bit too spoiled. Now I know WWE crowds and Indy crowds are pretty much opposites, but from what I've seen at recent ROH shows (Final Battle 2009) they completely sh** on shows if things don't go their way. I'm sure Philly fans aren't too far off from that, but from what I've seen from New York fans, they aren't the most light-hearted fans out there. But nonetheless, they'd make for an entertaining show.
Wasn't there a time period a little while ago where WWE wasn't booking any shows at Madison Square Garden? I don't remember exactly when it was, maybe 2007, but I remember it being a big deal and hearing a lot about it. But they've been booking shows there recently, so no big worry.

I'm not a fan of MSG. Tradition or not, to me WWE has outgrown it as a big-time PPV venue. It feels more like a Raw/SD and house show venue.

Having Wrestlemania at the Garden makes the show seem that much more important or not. I could care less about the staging setup and all of that cosmetic nonsense. Wrestlemania is the show where every performer, from curtain-jerker to main-eventer, busts their asses to create their own WM moment. People keep talking about how good a mammoth crowd in a stadium looks, but they fail to mention how they sound. It's really hard for the crowd heat to come across on ppv when events are held in the open-air stadiums. Whereas, 20,000 people in an arena like MSG can make shows seem that much exciting. Imagine an MSG crowd becoming unglued during the HBK vs Taker matches from previous Manias.
Plus, there are so many moments that have happened at MSG that just would'nt have had the same effect as they would have at other Wrestlemanias. Wrestlemania X's Bret vs. Owen just would'nt be the same if it had happened at the Astrodome. Neither would have the ending of WM XX. In my opinion, of course.

Yes, the only acceptable alternative would have been this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Side_StadiumBut it must be in MSG. We complain about WWE ingnoring or changing it's history & yet we complain about it when they do something like this to acknowledge it's history.

The ending of WM XX was just gold, with Benoit finally getting the title. The moments leading up to that were pretty epic as well- the fans chanting for Triple H to tap (this was not so clear on tv as it was live in the arena), by the time he locked in the crossface- every single fan was standing and cheering. I loved this very much, and it would only be right they returned for the 30th.

If they host WM30 at Madison Square Garden, maybe they could host SummerSlam or Royal Rumble at a big stadium to try and offset the revenue loss.
I, for one, would love to see the Rumble at a big stadium again, like they did at The Alamodome in 1997.

Absolutely, it's home for the WWE. Earlier this year WWE published a special WrestleMania magazine and they had an interview with set designer Jason Robinson. When asked if there were any 'Manias that didn't live up to his expectations, Robinson picked ... WrestleMania XX! I think that should tell WWE something. I loved that set. It doesn't get better for sets than that 3 year span of 19, 20, and 21 (I liked the cinema look).

I don't think Yankee Stadium would be that desirable in March/April. Too cold. No one outside of the North East US gives a crap about MSG really. I would rather see another big spectacular stadium show. There's so much more they can do. Come to the new Cowboys Stadium. Now that place is built for something like Wrestlemania! Maybe not WM 30, but they should have one of the next ones(27, 28 or 29) at Cowboys Stadium.

Absolutely. The Garden is tradition. And even the lowliest RAW or house show feels like a huge deal at the Garden.

I think it should. Like a once every 10 years thing. It was there for the first one, X, and XX. Though some people complain about the small entry way, I liked how it was changed up for XX when it had that entry way on one end and in the little entry way, it was just that screen that had the Wrestmania XX logo, as well as the image for whatever match is going on next. Besides, MSG has mostly been the venue for the bigger WWE events, as well as RAW. I mean, besides Wrestlemania, it also held Royal Rumble, Summerslam and Survivor Series.
Anyway, for just one event, it could just be held at the most famous arena. Think about it, besides 20, the other two after that were held in smaller arenas like the Staples Center and the Allstate Arena. Arenas that held 20K people.

Only, ONLY if they use the small entranceway. Otherwise there is no point.
