What are some names that for one reason or another, arent used as much as they used to be? The first one that comes to mind is Sylvester. I can safely say i havent met anyone in 10 yrs who had that name.

my mums cousin (great aunt?) named her daughter who can be no older than 3, Nora. That name has to have been dead for sometime.
If i was born a girl, my parents were going to call me Kerenza (sp?!) not certain if thats even a real name =/

You don't see too many Adolph's around now a days for some reason. You know, I once had an argument with someone over whether ot not it's offensive or not for a parent to name his or her child Adolf. While he argued the obvious reasons, I argued that it's just a name and, that just because one person with it did something terrible, it shouldn't reflect badly on someone else. We stil have people named Joseph/Josef in Russia, and people didn't stop using certain names that could be associated with seriel killers.

There are many other famous Josephs though. I can't think of many Adolphs.
Is it offensive? I suppose not, but you'd be an idiot for naming your child that.

Not to mention what happens when his school starts teaching about WW2 (The teasing would be nightmarish). OTOH, i see no problem with naming a pet adolf/adolph.
