Honestly dude, thanks for doing this. I've been looking for some new music lately and I'm going to check all of these out. The only album I don't like is the newest MCR. I absolutely love everything they've ever done but this album really isn't clicking for me. It doesn't come off as a natural evolution of the band or anything, it just comes off as a change in direction for little to no good reason. I don't dislike every song on it but I don't like the album as a whole. (Tangent over)
But I'm really excited to check these out. I missed the Deftones album cause their last few have been...meh...but this sounds like something I really want to hear.

What a shock at number 1! I've haven't heard most of these records but again the Deftones album deserves major praise it was great to hear them make an amazing album again, there in my top 10 bands list of all time personally. As for Arcade Fire, Neon Bible is my favourite album of theirs! I just love the atmosphere of that album. And I've had a very hard time getting into the MCR album, it's good don't get me wrong but hasn't blown me away like The Black Parade did. Yeah, I'm also glad they made an actually great album again. They're more talented than their last couple led one to believe. As for Arcade Fire, I can see Neon Bible being your favorite. It does have a really awesome atmosphere. I just like Funeral more. And as for Danger Days...yeah, it's VASTLY different from anything before. I still love The Black Parade a lot more, but I liked this album a lot. No Brandon Flowers or MGMT? I actually completely forgot about Brandon's solo album. I still need to get it and listen to it. As for MGMT, I'm just not that into them, honestly. I just cannot get into MCR. I mean, I like their singles fine, and the Vitamin String Quartet's cover of MCR songs are pretty amazing. That they've followed a similar course to Green Day in that they've a nice niche in poppy-punkish anthemic stuff, plus what they did with their newest album. I get the feeling that their best stuff hasn't happened yet, and will only happen when they nail down their musical identity. Don't get me wrong, it's just there is just not this connection I had to them. But then I am a geeky introvert. So I think maybe I missed the bus. Of course, I blame it on a longtime friend of mine whom got the hooks of non-radio music into me (a birthday present of Ken Nordine's Word Jazz, and a double disc selection from They Might Be Giant's early years), and the fact that I was 23 before I heard "Freebird" in it's entirety. But I love "Carry On My Wayward Son," and "Separate Ways." I am very unsurprised by your selections, Dude. Well by and large. Though, I agree with a lot of your musical tastes. Sure I haven't heard of some of those acts, or even given most of that stuff a listen, but I'll give it a check out, likely I'll diverge from your ranking... though I doubt anything will supplant Coheed.

I checked out FFTL's album on this list. Was good. Matt's vocals are a lot better though in a certain sense it kinda has started to sound like Sonny never left? Anyway. My only thing was, I was really enjoying it, and when it hit the last track and just went silent afterwards I was like "whoa, that was it?", in all it was pretty rad though. Just...unexpectedly short xD

Yeah, it sort of ends abruptly, but it's really cool. As I said, I'll never like anything quite as much as I liked Heroine probably, but this was definitely a step in the right direction.

If you haven't, just listen to This one:

I thought it was good, but it didn't click with me, in the past week it just struck me, and now it is probably my favorite album by them.

In fact my awesomeness is one of the fundamental underpinnings of reality itself. I hadn't heard of the Orb album before... so thank you for that. And put me on board for the new Chiodos singer being sooooo much better, as it was the last guy who turned me off of their stuff.

Being that I'm at work and it's a very slow Wednesday, I want to give my top ten so as to contrast and compare (and whathaveyou); 10) LCD Soundsystem - This Is HappeningExample track - "All I Want"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6BYCcy5aeo&feature=relatedMy $0.02 - I don't have a lot to say about this other than it being an infectious dance/pop record that is continually in rotation in my home. 9) Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock RecordExample track - "Texico Bitches"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQr4E2NEWz0&feature=relatedMy $0.02 - Who can't love this band? Generally, I am not a fan of instrumental music but Broken Social Scene are special. I once saw them live and they played a seven minute jam - to which, I was blown away. I can understand that they may not be for everyone but their singles should stick with you, at the very least. 8) Josh Ritter - So Runs The World AwayExample track - "The Curse"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9XfFGIwXT8My $0.02 - Arguably the nicest musician I had ever had the pleasure to see and meet. It is not ground-breaking music but it is some of the most wonderful, lilting folk music you will ever listen to. 7) Wolf Parade - Expo 86Example track - "Little Golden Age"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC6s6axj3m0My $0.02 - Apparently these guys are now on a hiatus which is rather disappointing for a big fan but this record is enough to keep me satisfied until they return (whenever that may be). Their side-projects are okay but Wolf Parade is where they should focus their collective attention; if you enjoy Broken Social Scene or Modest Mouse, you will like Wolf Parade. 6) She & Him - Volume 2Example track - "Don't Look Back"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKYF962P-KIMy $0.02 - Reminiscent of late 50s/early 60s pop music, with the creative touch of M Ward present, She & Him are a terrific duo and they have absolutely improved upon Volume One with Volume Two; I only wish they would tour in Canada. 5) The Roots - How I Got OverExample track - "Radio Daze"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIeqznH5jgsMy $0.02 - I wasn't very familiar with The Roots until I was given free tickets to see an outdoor show they were playing at; I came away having really enjoyed what I had heard. "How I Got Over" is a very relaxed, laid-back hip-hop album. Another stand-out track for me has to be the collaboration with Monsters Of Folk (an album that would have been included but was released in 2009). 4) Band Of Horses - Infinite ArmsExample track - "For Annabelle"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzsP6nCaXNI&feature=relatedMy $0.02 - It seem as though the band was attempting a shift, sonically, with this release, though they retained most of the elements that made me love them in the first place. This album is suitable for so many different moods and occasions; I always throw it on when I'm having company over. 3) Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist HistoryExample track - "Undercover Martyn"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLK4oaXUuLgMy $0.02 - I actually played a few shows with these guys back when they were starting out, so it is a little strange for me to see them on Canadian television and being mentioned by Mark Hoppus. They only seem to be getting better and they deserve it; Tourist History is a very, very fun record - almost every song on it is a hit. 2) Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted FantasyExample track - "Blame Game"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMUhsUCmJHc&feature=relatedMy $0.02 - My girlfriend put this CD in the player of our car and we haven't removed it since release; it's that good. Yes, believe the hype; it actually is that good. It just doesn't grow old, at all. Again, every song is a hit. 1) Arcade Fire - The SuburbsExample track - "We Used To Wait"; www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqyakRmPNM8My $0.02 - Hands down, the best album of 2010. This was the soundtrack to the remaining weeks of the summer and followed into fall. I saw them live about a month or so after release and I, basically, couldn't move the next day; they were phenomenal. I love this band. Now, the 2010 lowlights; Weezer - Hurley; awful, awful, awful, awful - just plain awful. I just have one question... what happened? Where did it all go wrong? MGMT - Celebration; a total disappointment from beginning to end. Although, having said that, their first release only had, like, three good songs on it. Hole - Nobody's Daughter; eh, who cares? I had heard a few songs from it and thought it might be alright ("Samantha" being a stand-out track) but I haven't revisited since its release way back in early '10. M.I.A. - MAYA; this was a very tough listen. Most of it was discordant, cacophonous and terribly self-indulgent. There are brief moments of "wow, this is brilliant" but then it devolves into a muddy mess. Shame, really.

I really recommend the Titus Andronicus. Though there was a whole helluva lot more albums, but they are more also ran, even if I did almost put in Big Boi's new album which is crazy awesome.
