Even if I wasn't allowed to watch porn, there was no keeping from the what I call the "early stuff." I watched that old dot styled scrambled softcore on Cinemax for about 6 years. In my household before I was 18 or 21 porn was tough to come by. I remember whacking to whatever looked close to porn cause I wasn't old enough to get the real stuff. Finally in 12th grade, I paid 2 bucks for an old VHS porn flick and that was the first one I owned. Anal Excursions with chicks just getting defiled.

My parents took me to see Robocop in the theater when I was like 3 or 4. I was also allowed to watch horror movies at a young age. But for some reason, my mom didn't want me watching Howard the Duck. Seriously.

The only one I can think off the top of my head is South Park. I still watched it anyway My dad always kept trying me to watch The Exorcist for some insane reason. Even when I was 9 he'd keep trying to get me to watch it. I relented when I was 11 and watched it with him. I haven't recovered since.

My mom didnt really care for me watching any wrestling specifically anything going on monday nights since it was a school night and I never ever finished my homework before it came on. Sneaking out of my room to watch while she was downstairs was a weekly occurance and I got caught often. We used to always go to the movies on sundays and I dont recall anything being off limits.

I was not allowed to go to the movies as a kid even if it was a religious movie. The reason was that even going to see a decent movie you were still supporting a theater that would also show movies with nudity and foul language.
We were not allowed to watch The Incredible Hulk and believe it or not Who's the Boss.

I always found it weird that my parents were mostly okay with me seeing violence, but not with me seeing a naked woman....a natural thing.
They also didn't like me hearing "naughty language".

The Simpsons.
My parents decided that it taught children to disrespectful to their parents (mainly the way Bart talks to Homer). When I finally convinced my parents to watch an episode, they changed their minds completely. They decided that anyone as stupid as Homer didn't deserve respect, even from his kids. Since they could see that they weren't being put on the same level as Homer, they figured the show was fine...and quite funny, too.

I couldn't watch Jerry Springer, South Park, Beavis and Butthead, and Clarissa Explains it All because my mom didn't like the way she talked to her parents. I remember around 3rd or 4th grade I told some kids that I couldn't watch Jerry Springer and South and they made fun of me for it.

The Simpsons. And I don't mean just as a kid. Anytime it was on, my dad would throw a fit because "cartoons are for little kids" and "it's stupid." My dad was the exact same way. I was allowed to watch R-rated horror movies at the age of 4, but The Simpsons was strictly off limits because "cartoons aren't supposed to cuss".

My mom didn't like me watching Mister Rogers' Neighborhood because she thought Mr. Rogers was gay. No joke.
Beyond that, I can't really think of anything else, except for maybe Beavis and Butthead.

I just remembered that my dad didn't want me watching Saved By the Bell. I think he saw one episode and thought they were disrespectful to their teachers and principal. I watched it anyway, but never when he was home.

I wasn't allowed to watch Ren and Stimpy, Marilyn Manson music videos or WWF/E. I wasn't able to watch wrestling but for some reason I could play the video games and that's how I became a fan. I used to spend hours playing WWF Smackdown 2 Know Your Role. I was finally able to start watching when I was in 5th grade and the rest is history

About the only thing I was not allowed to watch after a certain time was The Simpsons and that came from my mom and that was because of the fact that they made fun of religion. I guess that is one of the reasons I never have gotten into The Simpsons. She also did not like me watching Married With Children but since my dad watched it she kept her mouth shut. But she did make me shut off several things. She heard the line "Makes me want to fart" in the Salute your Shorts theme and made me turn it off, the another time I was watching MadTV and they were making fun of the series Davey and Goliath which is a religious cartoon.
While I think sometimes parents are right in not letting kids see something (If I had kids there would be things they would not be able to watch) sometimes though the reasoning is pathetic. I have heard of some parents not letting their kids watch Looney Tunes because there is no educational value. I have already decided that if I have kids, educational value is not going to be a reason for not letting them watch TV shows.

My folks were ok with me watching anything really except porn but it didnt stop me anyway but c'mon what idiot would actually ask their parents "hey is it cool if i put on a dirty film? cos im dying for a tommy tank here".
but there was only one non-porn film they wouldnt let me watch when i was younger it was Beverly Hills Cop my older brother got it on VHS when it first came out and i remember watching it in our old living room i must have only been four at the time anyway i saw probably the most memorable scene in the entire film when Axel Foley got thrown through the window then arrested I can still remember the shock on my mothers face as i jumped up laughing and yelling "THEY THREW ME OUT THE F***IN WINDOW" she was trying to tell me off and trying to stop herself from laughing at the same time so after that i dont think i saw that movie again until i was about 12.

You can't watch it but you can play it My parents were fine with WCW, but I couldn't watch during the Attitude Era.

The Simpsons was a big one for me. My parents' only excuse was that it was "stupid". To this day, I've only ever seen a handful of episodes. It's so weird to be a 90s kid and to have such little exposure to one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of that decade. Also, shows like Ren and Stimpy and certain aspects of the WWF's product circa 1999 were frowned upon as well.
