I was thinking about my cousins who are about my age, and how they weren't allowed to watch Scooby Doo when we were kids, while I was, but if they were at my house I had to turn it off. My aunt thought the monsters would give them nightmares. But they were also forbidden to watch The Smurfs because it included "Black Magic." Actually, pretty much anything that had magic in it, they weren't allowed to see.
The only things I remember my Dad didn't want me to watch were Ghostbusters. He had seen the Ghostbusters movie and thought it was way too scary for me, I was about 4 or 5 at the time, so he was probably right. The only cartoon I remember not being allowed to watch was the Legend of Zelda cartoon on the Super Mario Bros. Supershow. My dad saw Ganon on the Zelda cartoon and thought he looked satanic. Other than that my parents were pretty lax with what I could watch, as long as it was PG or less.
I remember in 2nd grade our teacher wouldn't let us draw pictures of TMNT and told our parents she was concerned about it since she heard, "they live in a sewer." But my parents were okay with it.

The Simpsons. And I don't mean just as a kid. Anytime it was on, my dad would throw a fit because "cartoons are for little kids" and "it's stupid."

There wasn't really anything I wasn't allowed to watch because I either didn't want to see programmes meant for people older than me, or I was in bed when my mum was watching them. The only thing that she got annoyed about was that her husband at the time let me watch The Terminator when I was about 10 when she was out one night. She got over it pretty quickly though.

well i got to watch it but it took forever.
Gremlins. And see heres the weird thing,my parents are really liberal folks. They let me watch monty python, david letterman,mr show and the godfather among other things...but gremlins just struck my dad as bad. He said it was"mean spirited"which was odd cause..of the comedies i just mentioned,he was a fan of all of them and alot of the humor is pretty mean spirited in them but i d k. I never made sense of it. I was able to see scarface before gremlins.
also not a movie but when i came home with a copy of the cures pornography when i was 13 my mom was disturbed. Yet black flag and other bands with names I cant type here were ok. Hell, she bought me a sid vicious action figure...

Beavis and Butt-head. I remember having to call my parents up at my cousin's house because we wanted to watch "Beavis and Butt-head Do America".
Also, I wasn't allowed to watch any movies with too strong language. They were okay with me being able to watch violent action movies though.

My parents didn't give a shit about what I watched. And, we had HBO and Showtime. There was this sex comedy on HBO called Dream On that I used to watch all the time when I was a kid. They let me watch "Animal House" before I was 7. I saw all the Bond films up to Dalton before I went to first grade, and the only reason I didn't see the Brosnan/Craig films because they hadn't been made yet. Hell, my dad gave me the birds and bees talk while he was watching "Basic Instinct." He basically told me what Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone were doing was making babies and that Michael Douglas really knew how to please a lady. Though, I think my dad was on to something since Douglas is married to Catherine Zeta Jones.

The Mark Harmon classic "Summer School". My mom always thought the Classroom Massacre scene was a bit much.

My grandmother didn't allow me to watch Beavis and Butt-Head. When me and my parents were able to move, I instantly became a fan.
I was also barred from the movie Heavy Metal until I was like 14, which was funny because I got to watch South Park upon its premiere. That might have had something to do with how detailed one art style was over the other, I suspect.

I wasn't allowed to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street until I was 16.

I'll be the first one to say Jerry Springer although I never liked what I saw when I did watch.
My twin brother actually kind of enjoys the show.....weird.

Can't really think of anything. Though if I'm being honest, as I mostly just watched wrestling and cartoons, I'm not sure my parent's really thought I was watching anything that bad. They were wrong... I wasn't allowed to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street until I was 16. And it still scared the piss outta me when I finally did. Imagine seeing Dream Warriors when you were 11. I had trouble sleeping that night!
