Outside of buying my first car (About $6,000) I think I just made one of my biggest purchases ever. I bought a Cannon digigtal camera, professional headphones, a professional field audio recorder, a mini-tripod, and a camera bag for the grand total of $939.11.
When I saw the total I almost didn't want to click purchase, but I was tired of borrowing equipment from my school. Plus I will be graduating in three months anyways so I figured I'd get used to having my own equipment before I had to.

My obscenely expensive Jackson Soloist guitar. I think it was 1500USD but because the dollar was down I paid only like 1300€ for it after shipping&tax.
EDIT: Oh I forgot that I own this apartment I'm living in.

Disregarding my car that I had, it would have to be the big screen tv and sound system I bought this year. It cost a fortune, but am I ever loving it!

My car, but even that only cost about £900. I don't really have expensive things. Even my laptop only cost £350. I feel like a right pauper now

$120,000 mortgage, or my incredible amount of school loan debt. I think currently I'm looking at $140,000, not counting my wife's school debt, or my undergrad debt.

My college education. Still $16K in debt and haven't really seen a return on the degree it self in terms of job opportunities.

Well, outside of necessities, I'd have to say the Royal Rumble Anthology. I'm usually really stingy and would never pay that much for entertainment, but damn I couldn't pass that up, and it was worth it.

I paid $307,000 for my house about ten years ago. I am within 12 months of getting the mortgage paid off.

My Dell 4400 AMD computer from Wal-Mart with a 22" monitor, a spindle of DVD-R's and a ten pack of disc cases.
It ran me $947-ish.
It was also the first and only check I've written.
Outside of that, I think the most I've spent at once was like $200-ish. Once when I bought my first DVD player back in the summer of '01 and then Christmas of '07 when I was finishing up some Christmas shopping and decided to buy myself a digital camera.

Probably my TV, which was around $700, or my PS3.

Disregarding major purchases like cars or student loans, I think the most I've dropped on any one thing at one time was 600ish for my guitar amp (Line 6 Spidervalve 212 hybrid with Bogner tubes). I know I spent more on my laptop and my TV/surround sound setup, but they were in small payments.

I paid cash for my house and truck. 200,000 and 25,000 respectively. Other big purchases include my tv and sound system, around 4500 (would be much cheaper now though). My wife and I have taken a cruise every year we have been married, comes out to around 3500 each time. I had an outdoor kitchen shack built last year for 1000, and my BBQ pits, smokers, and fryers/burners are worth several thousand.
I only pay cash for anything now. I have no debt, one credit card for emergencies only, and my wife only owes any money on her car.

The computer I'm typing on cost me $1300! A Sony Vaio VGN-FW280J complete with Blu-Ray BURNER drive! Besides replacing Vista Home Premium with 7 Home Premium (64-bit of course), all I did was buy a hard drive that turned out to be bad 9 months later! At least I know when to back my crap up lol.
