This is something I've wanted to try for a while now. So there's this PSX game called LSD Dream Emulator and despite the name, it has nothing to do with drugs, though I couldn't blame you for believing it does. The idea is to, well, emulate dreams. apparently, this is part of a work on dream journals, which is apparently a very popular thing in Japan. Essentially, you dream, and when you wake up, you note what you remember and apparently, it helps you understand your subconscious better r something of that effect. So it's pretty much self-psychology. Anyway, this "game" was made to pretend you were dreaming. The way it does that is by creating random maps with various pre-existing structures, objects and people, and adding random textures. It's grown quite a cult following, mostly due to how bats*** insane it can get, as things get weirder and creepier the more you "play". The thing is, it's not really a game in the sense that there is no clear goal. You just wander the "dreams" and enjoy the mindscrew. Kepp in mind that you never know what's going to happen next. You see weird people, weird... things, you get teleported from place to place for no apparent reason, you can go to one place, then another, than go back, only to end up in a completely different place. In fact, the game has gained a reputation for catching you off guard when you least expect it. And everything changes again with each new dream. It's also said to get very scary despite the fact that you cannot die. So I'm going to play this with you, and share my experiences on what I see. This should be interesting. More info at TV Tropes and Wikipedia.

Dream one:So as I'm starting, I'm facing a window. To my left is a flight of stairs... ...and to my right are apparently a few rooms. I think I'll go check these out. And without any warning, I get transported to some alley in a city at night while trippy music starts playing. I go to the left, but before I can see anything interesting, the screen fades and the music changes. And then this happens: It seems to some sort of weird, giant playground. Going to the left again. I notice a spinning floating arrow. I'm gonna check it out or get teleported tryin'. Huh, it's a maze, apparently. I go inside. The sound of my footsteps changes as I do. o.O Yay! I've found love at last! The sound of my steps changes again as I approach the LOVE building. Touching it achieves nothing so I'm about to go, when I get teleported again. Apparently, the soundtrack changes with each teleportation. The hell?! I spawn at the edge of a pit and... IS THAT A GIGANTIC PINK FLYING ELEPHANT?! Oh, and it's flying away. Of course. Makes sense. Moving on. I'm entering a building. I'd like to pause for a moment to address the one problem I have with this game: the footsteps sounds are ANNOYING. Regdardless of the surface you're walking on. They're pretty loud and monotonous so it gets on your nerves after a while, especially when you run (seriously, the game goeas TAKATAKATAKATAKATAK when you do). Dead end... or is it? Of course it's not! I'm going to annoy the 2D sumos. That sounds like a plan. Nothing happens no matter how much I mash the buttons. And then, another teleportation. Moais. Huh. Why the hell not? And... churches? And windmills? The Hell? I approach the church, but I get teleported again immediately. I wind up before a Buddha statue. Seems like a natural transition. Oh hey! I'm in the pit zone again (though I'm not completely convinced it's the SAME pit zone)! I find an entrance. Come on kids! Let's look what's inside! SO... MUCH... GREEN... Oh well that helps. I move forward and find... strobing water?! Oh and there's a shark in it apparently. Nice. Some birds. Neat. And then we fade to black, signaling the end of the first dream. The game then displays this board which I presume is meant to "rate" the dream in some way. Apparently this is to keep track of my state of mind, and different states apparently affect the future dreams: Well, that's it for Dream One, I have no idea what happened. See you soon for Dream Two.

Dream Two:[/img] Before we can begin, some Japanese text pops up... if anyone here can read this, it'd be really cool if you translate it for us. Thanks! And then it brings me back to the board...? So... it just skipped day two. I guess I just didn't dream that night. Moving on. On the third day, a second dream starts. Back in the same house as at the start of day 1. I'm going to check the stairs, this time. I can't even make it to the stairs before I get teleported. And once again, it's in the giant playground. But with a twist! It seems to be earlier in the day now. Also, some sort of star has appeared. As I look around me, I realize I spawned at the exact same spot I was when I left this place during Dream 1 as the LOVE building is right behind me. Interesting. I wonder if the rest of the teleportations follow the same rule. I try to move towards the star but I get teleported again. Back at the pit zone. My friend the fake dead-end is back, so I'll just go right through it. [[There was supposed to be a screenshot of the sumo wrestlers here but for some reason my emulator didn't take it. Use your imagination.]] It seems there IS some sort of time lapse going on. now that visit the place during the "day", the sumos are "wrestling" (they're really just moving around inside the ring). Very interesting. Urgh. Some sort of womb level. Always hated those. They're gross. Thankfully, I get teleported. I am now back at the "city by night" level, but I'm pretty sure it's not the spot I left. So this dream already taught us three things: we don't necessarily visit the various levels in the same order, not always at the same time of the day, and we usually spawn at the last spot we were in, but not always. I can distinctively hear splashing, but I can't see the source of that sound. Some decidedly creepy music starts playing, even though no teleportation triggered the music change this time. Also, for some reason, a can of soda starts bouncing around right in front of me, letting out a loud bell-like "DUUUNG!" sound with every bounce. There appears to be some kind of bay. Gotta investigate! Heh. Kinda disappointing. Not much to see aside from more strobing water. The game fades to black again and we see a new spot on the board: This one was shorter than the first, a bit less freaky too, but I actually found it more interesting. We got to learn quite a few things on how the game seems to work. Possibly. See you in Dream Three!

This seems strange... yet i very much want to play it. That's pretty much this game in a nutshell. ;D Also, update time. Dream Three:So, let's boot the game. Since the two previous dreams started in the same place, I assume I'm gonna start in... ... a barren wasteland. Naturally. Either that or it's the s*** cave from Conker's Bad Fur Day. Behind me is a cliff and oh, the green star is back. I can't approach it so I guess it's supposed to be the sun. Also, the cliff has a face. There's a hill with... something floating over it. Let's find out what it is! (Wanna bet me saying this will led to an immediate teleportation?) Getting closer, it appears to be a door. This assumption turns out to be correct as it opens and transports me to This. I turn around, but as soon as I try to move, I seem to fall backwards and the dream abruptly ends. So... that was even shorter than the previous one. Apparently, the fall is what ended it this time. Kinda disappointed this happened as I was seeing new levels and I really wanted to explore some more. Oh well, I guess I'll get another shot eventually. See you later for Dream Four!

Dream Four:I spawn inside what I think is a Japanese temple. A sun-like star is here... yes, a sun inside a building. Behind me is another room. You can't tell from the screenshot, but something's moving in the corridor in the background. I hope I can check both of them out. I can approach that star, so I guess it's not the sun after all. Now to check the moving thing. I can hear faint squeaking as I approach. You know, the same sound old wooden floors make when you step on them, though the sound isn't in rythm with my steps so I don't think it comes from me. So what I saw turns out to be a column of chairs with an acrobat on top... heh, still makes more sense than the elephant. I walk into the chairs to see what happens and I get teleported to another part of the level. Hey! More moving stuff! Let's take a look! Two Japanese (?) figures playing some ball game. Pale, faceless beings in a weird world where time and space are only relative notions? Great, I think I just found the Slender Man's daughters. I'm out of here. There's a corridor with one of those good ol' fake dead-ends. Hm, this one is longer than the previous ones. What could it be leading to? The outside. Cool. I follow the only way and end up in front of two pools of the blinking water and... MY GOD WHAT IS THIS?!! Great, dream Japan is even freakier than regular Japan. This giant, disembodied stone head is the most normal thing I've seen the whole game so far. There's something moving in the distance. I'll check it out. I barely have time to approach it before the dream once again abruptly ends. Guess that means it doesn't necessarily fade to black to signal the end of a dream. Well, I'm just glad I get to see new places and they are a bit more lively than the previous ones. See you in Dream Five!

MY MIND! WHAT HATH I WITNESSED? My exact reaction to your avatar. Also... Dream Five:Well it's been a while since we've last seen that window, hasn't it? Gonna try to climb the stairs again. My God! There really IS an outside! And a weird floating thing. It seems to be getting further as I approach. Either way, the fence (and presumably the height) is preventing me from going any further. I quickly get teleported... ... back to the buddhism/pit level! Er, what? The sun is blood red now. What's this?! Elephants again?! And... IS THAT A PTERODACTYL?!! Nevrmind, it just goes away. Back to the elephants, who are no doubt etching a nefarious plan. On a more serious note, I'd like to mention that the elephants are moving veeeeeeery sloooooooowly, which only makes the entire thing stranger. I was curious as to what would happened if I approached the elephants, and the answer is that I got teleported to another part of the map. Damn these slowpoke elephants and their supernatural powers. When I reappear, the elephants are gone. I also take that opportunity to take a good look down the pit, and as I look back up... ... GAH!! Freaking ninja flying pink elephants. I'm getting away from here. Oh hey! A gate! When I come out, the sky is pink. Oh wait, it's the sign zone again. And the sign isn't any more useful as it was before. After a while, the dream just ends. So this time, things were mostly familiar, the only thing we hadn't seen yet were this strange vulture thing. I don't know about you, but this actually freaks me out more. I kind of got used to being surprised, so seeing stuff I expected to see actually caught me off guard. That's right, this game is so weird that stuff happening as you expect them ends up surprising you. This game is spinning me around. So, see you soon for Dream Six and watch out for those elephants. They're up to no good.

Dream SixOK, now that's just plain WEIRD. Instead of a level, I get a video of pigeons doing pigeoney stuff. Here are a few screen caps: So after elephants, I shall now also look out for pigeons. (Note: I'm not showing the grid this time because when stuff like that happens, it apparently always adds a dot at the very center so meh) Since this is rather short, I'll post the next dream here as well. Dream Seven:So we once again start at the house. The music is even weirder than usual. When I pause, I can hear a somewhat normal tune, but when I unpause, a garble mess covers it up. I quickly get teleported, end up in the buddhist zone, only to be teleported BACK in the house right away. The game is clearly f'ing with me at this point. And then I get teleported again. To the playground zone, this time. I can see moving shapes in the distance. I'm gonna take a look. As I approach, I see a gigantic statue. Is this a monument to the Lode Runner player character or something? The moving shapes appear to be human... ish things that walk back-and-forth in a military formation. The toy soldiers of a gargantuan baby? I touch one of them and get teleported to a place that seems to be the buddhist level... but I never saw that part before. I turn around and much to my surprise, I see various small scale versions of world-famous monuments. There are also two benches in front of them. It is now obvious that this is the place I was in in Dream One with the church and windmills (back then, I got teleported out before I got the chance to explore the whole thing, hence why I didn't recognize it at first). I find it interesting that I was just in a place that made me feel like I shrunk, and now I'm in a place that makes me feel like I grew in size. After looking around for a while, it appears there is only way out, through one of those corridors we've seen so many times before. On the other side, I find... This. But I don't get to visit as the dream ends. Now, I found this session particularly interesting. Also, despite the random appearance of this thing, I can't help but notice I often get teleported in the same order which brings me to a proposal I have for you guys: I'd like you to post any theory you can find to explain how this weird universe works and to suggest ways to explore the levels (approach/avoid NPCs, focus on buildings or on surroundings) or generally, if you have any idea for a new approach of the game, don't hesitate to suggest it. I'm willing to take anything in consideration. It's a video game so there must be some kind of logic behind it, and I'm sure we can crack it. Anyway, see you later for Dream Eight.

What is the point of the game anyway?the objective? Well i nsay you avoid anything living or moving, you should focus on exploring building It doesn't really have any. Just explore and witness the madness. Many do try and figure out what the pattern behind the events is as an objective, but so far no-one has really come up with a truly satisfying answer. Also, some people do claim that something special happens when you've filled enough spots in the grid. But mostly, it's about sheer WTFery. I guess much like there are abstract paintings and sculptures, this is an abstract game. And let's dive right back into the abstraction! Dream Eight:This session begins in the Zen Temple level. I'd like to note that for a change, the music is actually pretty upbeat and quieting. Looking around, there is only one way out of the garden. I approach a nearby building and as I reach it, I get teleported to a very brightly lit outside area. I see only trees and grass, and then there is this wall. I can't see any opening but I'm going to look for one. There you go! So I am at the entrance of the temple. Looking to my right, I see a giant sculpture of a hand. Gonna take a closer look. Yup, it's a hand alright. Looking to the right, I also see wooden buildings that I never noticed before. Let's explore! The windows are condemned. This is not a good omen, and the blood red sky doesn't help. Ironically enough, the music is still very jovial. And here's a giant drum. The sticks actually hit it every few seconds. I'm actually very curious about this thing so I'll try and get a closer look. Touching it teleports me to... some place I don't recognize. Huh, a bar... wait, those walls... is that the building in which I often start the dreams? As I enter, I hear a loud, looping noise. Sounds like percussions or something. Going upstairs, it becomes apparent that this is NOT the building I was thinking about, but a similar one. To my right, there is a flight of stair going up, but I'd like to take a look at this floor first. Oh, f'n lovely. And to make it better, a loud, piercing light pitched sound assaults my eardrums as I stare to the TV. Note that it only happens when I actually look at it. turning around while staying in the same spot stops the noise. A futon, with something under the sheets obviously... must... check... this... out! OH DEAR GOD!! As I approach, whatever is inside this starts breathing heavily, complete with exaggerated animation. This is Silent Hill levels of creepy. Actually touching it transports me to the monuments zone. I cross the corridor and... ... I end up back in the Zen zone with the condemned houses. There's a tree in the middle of an agglomeration of several houses. Wonder if it has any special significance. Touching it teleports me to... the pit zone! Watch out for the elephants. Of course it's back! And then the dream ends. Okay, we got to see some new stuff, but what awed me the most was definitely the breathing thing. Seriously, what the Hell was up with that?! Especially with the weird TV thing in the other "room". So, hope you enjoyed it, see you soon for Dream Nine, don't hesitate to share your impressions, and watch out for the elephants.

After a short break to cover the Duke Nukem Forever demo, I'm back with more insanity! Dream Nine:I start the game and I face... A wall. Huh. Oh, so I'm back at the freaky Zen temple. Oh hey! Moving stuff! You know what that means! It's a geisha. Again, she doesn't have a face. Also, she's spinning around for some reason. As curious as I am, I'm going to follow Taskmaster's advice and avoid contact. As I move forward, it turns out the only way to continue is to cross one of those corridors. It seems to be the same long corridor I crossed the last time I've been here, I'm headed outsi- what the...? Okay, these things weren't here the last time I visited. So they are peacocks apparently. Cool. I suddenly get teleported and end up in the pit zone. Of course, our good ol' friend the elephant is here. There's a corridor right behind me. I cross it and end up in the sumo ring room. Remember that bowel level I mentionned in an earlier dream and that I didn't get a chance to take a look at? Let's check it out now, shall we? ... or maybe the sumo will suddenly rush at me and teleport me to the monuments zone. That works too, I guess. That actually really surprised me as it's the first time a "character" in this "game" actively comes to me. Usually either I walked towards them or I just stood in their way. This zone doesn't have anything new so let's move on. I inadvertently touch the gate in front of the corridor and get teleported. Heh, this doesn't seem too baaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! JESUS CHRIST ON A POGO STICK WHAT ARE THOSE?!! Oh and it's the hotel with the creepy TV and futon too (or at least I THINK it's a hotel). Wonderful. One of them left through the corridor while the other just stands there. Well, I'm not getting any closer to those things. I'd rather visit the creepy hotel. As I turn around, I notice a chubby, vaguely humanish shape floating in the sky. What is UP with this place?! I get back to the hotel, but as soon as I reach the second floor, the dream ends. Wow, at first I thought this was going to be a boring one and then, the game just throws THIS at us. What. The. Fork. Well, I guess that's something you can think about while waiting Dream Ten! See you all later!

Dream Ten:For the beginning of the tenth dream anniversary (heh, why not?), we begin... here: There is a staircase going up. That's the only way. It kinda looks like the zen temple, but I've never seen this part before. This staircase is pretty long but after a while, I end up on some kind of balcony. I can see a giant moon here. Seriously, it looks like it's going to crash on the Earth. What is this, Majora's Mask? ... and then the dream suddenly ends. Wow, that may have been the shortest one yet. Well, let's continue with the next one right away, then! Dream Eleven:This time, we begin in... Ooo-kaaaaayy... looking around, I THINK this is the same house we started in at the beginning of several dreams including the first one, but obviously it's... not as usual. I just realized, I never checked this area (right before the stairs) of the house before. Guess it's time to fix that. It turns out there is another floor under the one I started in... ... Ooooh. So that place is the creepy hotel... the one with the weird TV station... and the breathing in the futon... and the freaky heads... and I've been in this place the whole time I want my mommy. The TV has been replaced by a book. Remember kids: reading is good for you. Okay, this is reaching Silent Hill levels of weird now. I'm probably goin to regret this but... I want to see if the futon thing is still there. Well, something is there, but now the bed is a more western style one... and the being inside it is not moving. I actually find that creepier. Why is it not moving? Oh God why is it not moving?! Is it dead?! I think it's dead!! Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap this is NOT a good time! I must get out, I'm going downstairs. Oh great, another floor. After exploring it, turns out there's nothing interesting here. Going downstairs again. Okay, so the last time I went outside there, I was greeted with hideous giant face monsters. I really hate to think of what I might find now. Huh, nothing. Though the grass WAS replaced with a texture of a Japanese symbol (and if I'm not mistaken, this one corresponds to the sound "A". So the grass is pretty much screaming...). As I make my way towards the corridor, the dream ends. So, to sum up my feelings on this dream: I... but... what... how... and... HUH?! I guess we're getting to the good stuff as things are getting weirder and weirder, so tune in next time, for Dream Twelve!

I was going to do this earlier, but then Duke Nukem Forever happened. Game's sweet, by the way. You should definitely check it out. Dream Twelve:For the first time in a while, we once again begin in the house/hotel. But considering how THAT turned out last time, I'm not too sure that's a good thing. Anyway, I hit the wall as I step backwards and get teleported... ... to the Japanese town zone. As I turn around, I find myself facing a foot, this time. There's a house with a red lamp. None of the other buildings have one. Not sure if it has any kind of significance. Near it is also a huge building with a yellow... thing. I don't know, is that a chimney? If anyone out there has some knowledge of Japanese architecture, please enlighten us! Strange figures in the distance. They're making their way towards a gate. I'll follow them and see what happens. I end up in the outer area. The figures are nowhere to be found. Well, let's get back inside. ... ... WHAT?! No seriously, what the hell is going on?! One second I'm following... things to the outside and the next, everything looks different. What on Earth just happened?! I'm starting to think this games really WAS made on LSD. And here's a giant bell. The hammer thing hits it every once in a while. The stones in the zen garden now have ideograms written on them. A sign. Check out how useful it is. And now a giant umbrella. And with that, the dream ends. Hm, the new dot is on an eye. I wonder if that'll have an importance in the next dreams. Anyway, I guess I at least found one way to get the game to reveal some of its secrets. I think I'll try to do that more often in the future. If you guys think of something else, don't hesitate to share it, and see you soon for Dream Thirteen!

As I launch the next session, I once again get a screen with Japanese text. I assume it's basically saying that I didn't dream that night. So, let's follow that with... ... another text screen! Okay, so let's follow THAT with... Dream Thirteen, the haunted one! (or not, let's wait and see)Well, we're finally getting to an actual dream, and we begin in... ... son of a bitch. Well, last time this happened, I went downstairs. So let's check upstairs this time, shall we? I can see the floating shape, so this definitely IS the same place as the "normal" hotel. Also, maybe it's just an impression, but it looks like it's getting further and further away as I look. Anyway, enough of that. Let's head back downstairs. I'm skipping the various floors as we've already checked them out. Alright, I'm outside. let's go through the corridor. I'm VERY curious as to what we're gonna find. HORSE! I THINK we've already been in this area, but this is so weird I'm not even sure... and after I crossed that bridge, the dream ended. Well, things are getting weirder by the minute. For some reason though, the sight of those horses made the whole thing slightly less creepy. For me at least, not sure about you. Also, maybe it's just a coincidence, but dreams that take place in this "alternate universe" (then again, aren't dreams an alternate universe themselves ?) seem to be pretty short. Anyway, see you later for Dream Fourteen!

Okay, since that last one was rather short, just one more for the evening (well, it's the evening here as I write this anyway). Dream Fourteen:We are back in the Japanese area, but the sky still has this green/brownish tone it got last time. I can hear some knocking around me, like the sound of a horse's hooves (or failing that, coconuts being knocked against each other). As I turn around, I discover the source of that sound. And that's apparently the cart I saw at the end of Dream Four. I decide to go in the direction it's following to see if I can find where it's headed (if it even is headed anywhere). There are some more modern-looking buildings here, reminiscent of some I saw in the city by night while writing Dream Two. As I progress forward, I realize the cart isn't following anymore. As I backtrack, it turns out it went back and is now once again walking towards the same direction. I decide to leave it be and to try the corridor thing again. Yup, the experiment is conclusive, it changed again. So take notes, kids: in this game, if you cross a corridor and come back, things get screwy. Now, let's take the experiment further and see what happens when I do it again. First observation: the outside area changes as well. Now let's get back inside... ... just as planned! The world reverted back to its normal self. Well, as normal as this game gets anyway. Now while we're at it, I'd like to check the outside area a bit more thoroughly, not to mention I kept hearing a strange sound when I was there in its "alternate" form. Interesting, the outside did NOT revert. As I move forward, I end up at the edge of a cliff. Wow, that's one psychedelic tree. Strange, red shapes in the background. It looks like a child and an adult. I cross another bridge as I try to find a way to reach them. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to get to them... so I guess I'll just explore. Yet another bridge. After I cross it, the dream ends. Certainly an interesting session that seems to confirm some of the mechanics of the game. I think we're getting closer to actually figuring this thing out, guys! A shame we couldn't get a closer look at the red figures though. Well, that's it for now, see you later for Dream Fifteen!

Dream FifteenThe dream begins in... The temple! As I visit, it is surprisingly empty this time around, until I finally find this: A throne with flags over it. I wonder if whoever sits inside it is around. The room is also a dead end, so my choices are backtracking or touching the throne. I hate backtracking, so I touvh it and get transported to... ... a weird(er) ass version of the playground area. There is thunfer in the sky and most importantly, this weird... gray... man, who is slowly walking towards me. After a while, a flash lights up the screen and... the gray man has disappeared! Moving on, I take a look around and I notice this: I have no idea what it is, but it seems to have hands but no arms, like a Rayman character, and no torso either (but it does have a head). Its moving its arms like it's speaking to a crowd, but all I can hear is a buzz. I walk some more and find the marching band I saw in a previous dream. Still walking the same way as before. I try to climb the... whatever it is behind them, but it teleports me to... Oh joy. I'm not staying here. Also, it is now night time. I once again find myself in the outside area. And the horsies are there too (or one of them anyway)! Yay! Huh, the trees are blood red. That is NOT a good omen. Some more blinking water. It also makes a lot of noise as I approach, which it never did before. Surprisingly enough, I can walk across it. Inside the water are giant fishes swimming back and forth. I hear some squeaking noise coming from the bridge, but I can't see anything that may be causing it. I come across a pit and... the Hell?! Okay, I certainly did not see THAT coming. I cross yet another bridge and eventually, I find this, a computer which displays... ... is... is that a map? Of the dream areas?! Holy crap! That's cool! Though it's kinda hard to tell where I'm supposed to be without a "YOU ARE HERE" sign. I can't go any further, but the dream ends soon after anyway. Boy, I don't know about you but I LOVED this session. It certainly was... unique and I think this map could actually come in pretty handy. Oh, before I go, I'd like to talk again about the gray man. From what I read about him, he is the closest thing to a villain this game has. If he touches me, he erases the grid and all progress made. So yeah, if I see him, I'm gonna avoid him like the plague. And see you later for Dream Sixteen!

Dream Sixteen:Things seem to get crazier by the minute. I'm very curious about what we're gonna find this time, so let's dig in. We begin in... MY GOD WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!! Ohgodohgodohgod this is NOT a good start! Let's get away from... whatever the Hell is going on here. GAH! Another teddy bear! With that and SIlent Hill 3's bloody rabbit, I'm starting to believe Japanese video games developers really want me to hate plush toys. Oh and guess who's back? I'm going the F away from here. As I go out, I am surprised NOT to find any monstrosity. And the outside is as weird as ever. Interestingly, as I follow the horses, I discover that they actually "jump" over pits. Well, more accurately, they teleport from one edge to the other. They soon outrun me though and I can't see them anymore. Hm, I never really took the time to take a look around those walls. Let's see what I can find. After a bit of walking, I find this lone patch of land with a cut tree trunk. It's the only one I ever found so far. MORE HORSIES!! Right after that, I return to my starting point without anything else of note. It's bridge-crossing time! I end up before the same bodies of water as in the last dream. There are strange geometric things in it. For some reason, this bridge has stone steps whereas the other ones don't have any. A few seconds after I cross it, the dream ends. Strange beginning, more usual stuff afterwards. I'd say this was a pretty average session this time. I guess we can call it a break from the weirdness of the last few dreams. I really hope I don't see those bears anymore, though. As a bonus, I took another look at the map I found last time and I THINK I know where this area is on it. Here it is, circled in purple. Keep in mind I'm not 100% positive that I am right, but almost: As you can see, there are the various small patches of land, a body of water, and what may be the hotel at the far right.

Dream Seventeen:So the last one was relatively quiet. Let's see if things stay that way. We kick off this session in... ... a trippy version of the monuments area! Crossing the nearby corridor, I once again find myself in the temple area. And what's with all the pink lately? AND WHAT'S WITH THAT?! Oooo-kaaaayyyyy... look, I know this is a Japanese game and everything, but even by Japanese standards, THIS IS FREAKIN' WEIRD. Oh and by the way, you can't tell from the screenshots, but after the face was done spontaneously materializing letters, it just flew away. The drum doesn't have its hammers anymore. GAAAAH! There's another one! I'd rather not get too close this time. This thing is freaking me out, so let's move on. Maybe it won't see us. Wait, I don't remember seeing that tower before. As I approach, I find a house whose door is open, and inside it an old woman. So far, this is the only humanoid character I meet with an actual face. Well except for those things that ARE a face. On a WALL. What the hell. Anyway, all she does is nod. I decide to leave, but as I do I accidentally hit a wall and get transported to... ... the floe. Because apparently, there is one in this game, and it only took us seventeen tries to get there. (Also, let me tell you that the sound of the footsteps are reaching their maximum annoyance potential, making a grating, very high-pitched squeaky sound). Aaaand it turns out that this area is related to the toy zone. Somehow. Woah. This place really decided to outdo itself with the weirdness this time. I'm probably going to regret this, but I want to know what's inside this tunnel. Well what do you know. A train. On train tracks. Who would have thought? (note: I intended to take a screenshot but it startled me so much that it was already gone by the time I pressed the key. So er, imagine it or something) I take a faceful of locomotive and get teleported... ... back to the temple! And because peacocks just aren't weird enough, we get to see the trippy version! You know, I was STARTING to get accustomed to those areas. So naturally the game just HAD to screw things around. There's a giant... thing approaching. BEHOLD THE MIGHTY GIANT GEISHA!! I'd like to look around some more, but the game doesn't agree with me and the dream quietly ends. Gee, just when I thought the game was calming down with the creepy stuff, giant faces pop out of walls, do weird crap, fly away, everything gets screwy and giant women start walking around.
