For reference, the last time Smackdown did a 2.5 was in September 2008

Seriously, they need to ditch Friday. It's a dead night, and there's no reason to have stuck with it with the MyNetworkTV move, much less on Syfy.

I think it had more to due with being live rather than being on SyFy...though Tuesdays would be a better day, since people are home at night more often.

More proof WWE chose the wrong day to air Smackdown.

A .8 jump isn't because it was live. It has to do with the promotion of this show and it not being on Friday night. With that said, i say the WWE figures out a way to get it on Thursday nights on USA. Then we can have a more realistic war.

Totally. No point to it being on Friday anymore -- didn't it originate on Thursday to compete with Thunder (or was that the other way around)? Then move to Friday because... well, no idea why they did that. I vote they move it to Wednesdays - still gives time to tape it on Tuesday, keeps a nice block of WWE programming contained into 4 days (Raw/NXT/SD/Superstars), and more importantly, as it was said, gets it off a dead night. I still maintain that the XFL would have done better had they not tried to air the games on Saturday nights. Why put things on during a time when your target demo is out partying?

Didn't they announce the live edition of Smackdown during TLC then Raw? If so this is a pretty good rating considering some people may have missed the memo completely.

Yes this could work great
1. Raw - Monday 2. Smackdown - Tuesday 3. NXT - Wednesday 4. Superstars - Thursday 5. Something like ecw - Friday

there is a reason that the Friday Nights are known as the time slot of death in the tv industry
in fact if I remember that isn't that the reason UPN moved them there in the firstplace years ago?

Should totally move it to Tuesdays. They can promote it right on RAW.

They won't move Burn Notice or Royal Pains to another night. In particular Burn Notice which is huge on Thursdays. The possibilities for USA would be Wednesday (they'd have to move Psych) or Friday. I don't think USA would move White Collar and Covert Affairs from Tuesdays or the previously mentioned Thursday shows.

I don't think Tuesday would be a good day. I'd rather they put it on Thursday and bumped Superstars to Wednesday or Friday. Having the two big shows two days in a row just doesn't feel right.

I'd move Smackdown to Thursdays, and then put Superstars on a Sunday.

2.5 wow, that's quite a jump.
Two days of wrestling in a row is a bit much, but I think at this point its the way to go.

Best of Raw and Smackdown on Friday nights. so essentially a re-showing of Raw.
