If you are unable to perform your job by something that happened through your own choice why should you continue to be paid?because she was pregnant and in most states in the US it is illegal to fire someone for being pregnant, which is what Vince did
and as for her bad attitude backstage that was just at ons, on smackdown she was seen as a friend/sister to the other divas.
Well, I answered it above, but will reiterate it. There is no state where employers are mandated to give paid maternity leave to employees, maternity laws are designed to protect employers not women (employers pay politicians not women). In most states employers are required to offer unpaid maternity leave to permanent female employees, so if the woman hurts herself and loses the baby while working she can not sue the employer for it. In jobs where physical performance are required in the job description, the employees can be forced at a certain point to take the unpaid leave or be terminated if they refuse, so the employer does not have to accept liability for the female permanent employee and child.
Part 2 is none of this applies to professional wrestlers in any state in this nation because every single one of them are considered independent contractors. Maternity and benefits laws cover permanent employees (generally full time), they have no application to workers who work on a temporary contract basis. It is how wrestling has always been run to avoid these state laws and how it will always be run. Unless McMahon violated some part of her contract or other legal agreement they signed, I bet he did not, she has no case in a court.
McMahon can walk up to Dawn Marie and say "your hair is a mess today, you are fired" and he can fire her as long as he pays out her 90 day no compete clause and all past dues and royalties she is owed. He has no burden of proof in the case to prove any justification for her firing because he is the defendant and because the contracts are structured so no reason is needed for termination. I do not know exactly why he fired her and nobody here knows why, maybe it was so when the baby popped out with its gold medals and twirled Kurt would not have to see it. I do know she had huge heat in old ECW, not much love in the locker room (except for rumored f***s), was not a wrestler, was getting older, and had no fit in current / future story lines, so it was a good firing.
I rarely support McMahon, but he got 1 right here.
