It dawned on me after watching Raw and Impact this week, but I believe you can boil down the difference between the two brands in one sentence:
In TNA, wrestlers want the belt so they can have power, and in WWE, wrestlers want power so they can have the belt.
It can't be that simple, can it?

The WWE is afraid to take chances, while TNA takes too many.
There, that's one sentence that sums up both of their booking.

It can't be that simple, can it? I always thought that was a basic rule of pro wrestling: That wrestlers would do anything to get the belt. Whatever form it takes be it US Title, Cruiserweight, Hardcore, WWE, Etc. They'd fight or screw over one another to get the belt. It only seems to have change since the 90's with the Fingerpoke of Doom and Vinnie Ru's crazy ideas.

One makes money, the other one doesn't. Which is why one is afraid to take chances while one takes too many!

WWE booking is not very creative, but totally coherent, while TNA booking is a gigantic clusterf***

WWE doesn't learn from their mistakes. TNA doesn't learn from WCW's mistakes.

WWE's Main Eventers have been around 5-10 years, TNA's Main Eventers have been around since the WWE Main Eventers were 5-10 years old.

WWE has less talented wrestlers, they book them not really good for some of them while TNA has a lot of talented wrestlers, all awfully booked

TNA bookers, they drive a car like this:
*hunches forward with both hands in front of him, sings a nerdy sounding song to himself*
Now WWE bookers, they drive a car like this:
*leans back casually with one hand in front of him, adding beatbox sounds*
