Is baffling to think he may actually retire without appearing in WWE even once.

Hasn't Sting always wanted it that way though? I may be wrong, but didn't he say once that he never wanted to work for Vince?

He'll show up at some point. I don't see any reason as to why Sting would turn down an appearance or HOF.

Sting always struck me as a guy genuinely concerned with his own legacy, who wants to showcase his career, achievements, and so forth on his own terms. As odd as it may seem I think he's possibly proud that he's the one guy from WCW/NWA who never had to work for Vince, who until the very end (whether career or otherwise) maintained his independence.
That's not to say he won't ever get associated with WWE, but I suspect it will be after the definitive end of his in ring career.

A s*** load of wrestler whom never work in WWE are in the WWE hall of fame. I know some of the older generation guys are, but at the same time, the "WWE" as it exists today didn't exist at the time that they were active. I guess that is where my confusion is. BorneAgain mentioned that maybe he will appear long after his in-ring days are over with, and I could see that- I could also see that being the only time that the WWE allows him to be inducted to the hall of fame.

Complete unjust logic by Sting if that's the case, the WWE is one of the most giving and charitable organizations on the planet and they care a lot about their fans. Hopefully that was just smoke and mirrors. I'd kill for Sting to make a WWE appearance of some kind, even if it's just a Hall of Fame speech.

Really? Did the fans really want to see Rosie Vs Trump? What about Vince's rant on Stan E Kronkie? Or hornswoggle vs chavo? Did they really care about their fans when they did this stuff? What about Katie Vick or The Gooker? Did they care then? Because I don't think they cared about the fans at all when they did most of the stuff.

Management shifts, priority changes. WWE always makes up for mistakes they make and bad storylines happening to me doesn't really count as not caring about fans. They've always done well to promote current talent and push new stars, they are always "in" with what the internet is buzzing about on their product. Watching the Slammies tonight? They've really showcased/joked about a lot of what we were joking about. To discount what WWE does or has done just because of a few stupid storylines is foolish in my eyes.

I read on another site where HBK said the only match where he would come out of retirement for is to face Sting at Wrestlemania.
With Taker on the shelf and may not make it to Wrestlemania and Sting still thinking about retirement and to my knowledge (I could be wrong) hasn't resigned with TNA Vince needs to make this happen somehow. Wrestlemania needs a fresh match and this would be it.

You make it sound like the WWE is the only company to come up with awful storylines. Also I'm sure at the time they didn't think they would create these storylines just to screw with the fans. They were just bad ideas that didn't go over well. The WWE is a business that depends on their fans for profit. They can't afford not to care.
