We've had talks of "Kavals this seasons Bryan" or "O'Niel is this seasons Tarver. It occurs to me that each season does seem to follow the similar archtypes.
The Indie Darlin'
Bryan/Kaval/AJ/Curtis
Not the very best on the mic but they get by with their actions. Has the better online reputation. Chances are an announcer will hate them for this. Also tends to be the shortest of the bunch.
Bryan fell on a technilicality, but Internet Voting saved the day for Smackdowns favorite jobber. Sadly, AJ's ending wasn't as happy. Curtis is possibly the weakest of the bunch but he may still turn some heads yet.
The Charismatic One
Otunga/Watson/Kaitlyn/Saxton
The other side of the coin. Wrestling ability isn't the best and they tend to be one of the "newer ones". Fortunatly for them, they know how to work the mic. Plus, they tend to be quite well built too...
Kaitlyn proved that charisma can get you far in the wrestling world, while Otunga made the final two and Watson earnt a cult following. Could Saxton make it a win?
The Big Guy
Skip/Cottonwood\Husky/Jamie/Clay
Speaks for itself. Not the best in the ring compared to others, but when they're that big, who cares. Can blend into the Charismatic One.
Based on past averages, Clay will be the 2nd or 3rd gone. Of course, he may save himself if he slips into the Charismatic role instead.
The Evil One
Barrett/Riley/Maxine/O'Conner
Tends to be good in the ring and knows how to work the mic. The key thing is though, we always need a bad guy to make us like the good guys more. Sure, others may be bad, but these guys go out of their way to show they don't need the fans and they're doing things their way.
Barrett won it and Riley made the final, but Maxine caused a bump in the world. Of course, O'Conner is better then Maxine and maybe even Riley. If he can match Barrett though, we'll have to wait and see.
Mr/Mrs Workrate
Gabriel/McGillicuty/Naomi/Bateman
They know what they're doing. Their ability in ring and on mic may not be the very best, but they tend to be in the Top 3 overall.
Has a good shot at winning, but so far have just fallen short at the final hurdle. Can Bateman man up and break the curse?
The "Other One"
Tarver\Young/O'Neil/Aksana/Novak
Added to fill out the card. They struggle out of the starting blocks. Occasionally may survive longer then expected just due to wacky shenanigens (Young/Aksana) but are often the first to go. Always end up with a memorable moment to look back on fondly though (Tarver freaks outs/Young and his SES drama/"Make it a win"/"Llama"/...We're waiting Novak.)
Novak's got a long way to go, with most typecasting him as the loser from the starting gates. It's only been one week though, so things can change, especially when Saxton and Clay are currently untested in the ring.
And then there's these two...
Slater/Lucky
